	Our Civilisation Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

OK, ministerial positions are slowly being filled by a few people; evidently we have a ruling elite at the moment, a cheif and his subordinates.

However we need to sort some key things out first;

Which "Civ" will we be (for colours really)

What will our Civ be called (Apolytonia I guess)

What are our laws?

IMO we may as well say we're Apolytonia and choose Romans or Greeks (I prefer White or Orange) to speed things up, but other people may hate having Orange city names or something

Our laws however should govern votes and how often they are called and things such as this. ATM I'm thinking a vote on major issues once or twice a week, elections every 100 turns (I've no idea on this one) and a President/Minister can serve any number of terms as long as popular opinion agrees. Also ministers should not be allowed to vote for other ministers (unless we have a really small amount of players) to avoid having a government being able to select itself, at least until we get more players.

I think john may be right, however i will still comment on this and do my part.

We will need to cordinate with the other teams on how offten we will play, It won't do for us to play 100 turns with one cabinet and the otyher team to play 50.

The laws/Rules for apolyton should be the same as they are for the civ2 Demo game, that is where the idea originated and i feel that we should honor that.

My suggestion is that the team name be Apolyton. It fits and makes an attractive name i think

I don't really understand the differences in the color other than for visual apeal, therefore i would vote for white.

Well a couple of posts, like said on the main board, we need some commitment to get a snowball effect; people like joining things that are successful.

I wouldn't quite call it dead yet.

However, there's a few issues that need working out.

Civ: Apolytonians

With the ministerial posts, I propose two things.
a) get rid of the ambassadors...merge that into foreign affairs.
b) that we take up more than one post if we have to

I'd volunteer for taking on foreign affairs as well.

Also, do we bother with elections? Seeing there's not a single contest, I really don't see the point...

Finally, Zedd, perhaps you should consider being president? I'm happy to do it, but you seem to have more energy about the concept, especially while we're struggling. That might be just the thing we need.

I would be happy to be the pres, however There are two obsticles,
1. i think we allready have one (is it 123john123?)
2. I can't play this saturday, I have other responsibilities that i forgot about.

1. That was simply a representative of the team in the earliest stages, before the call for election nominations.
2. That's okay. If you like, I can stand in for you, or someone else, or you could negotiate a new time.

Here's what I propose. (depending on the outcome of the roll call)

President: Zedd
Vice President: Is removed. The president runs the elections, and in the event that the president can't make a session, a representative who can does so.
Foreign Minister/Minister Of War: Merged into one portfolio, which I volunteer for.
Science/Trade/Finance Minister: Pevonian
City Planner/IE: Vlad Antlerkov
Historian: Removed. Role filled by President.

I haven't seen much of the two candidates for ambassadors, but I suggest getting rid of those, and putting them under the jurisdiction of the Foreign Minister.

Finally, perhaps we should PM Vlad, jdd and 123john, to remind them of this, and see if they're still interested.

In the event that Vlad drops out, perhaps that could be merged into one big "Domestic Minister" portfolio under Pevonian. (who I think is still around)

I think that those are very good ideas and I would vote to implement them. I have contacted all the members of Apolyton who signed up for the multisite demo game by email, iwill additionally PM those I can.

Pevonian and Vlad have been a steady presence as well as 123john123 and cannonfodder so I expect to hear from them tonight.

Heh, I'm sure the tibe would agree that Shaman Pevonian will gide them well. IMO we should name ourselves according to our tech level, itr adds a little colour and realism. Great Wise Shaman Pevonian in a semi-nomadic tribe is better than Interior Minister (for now) and the leader should be whatever the leader of the Govt is. Not vital but it does make it better.

Science/Trade/Finance Minister; Shaman
City Planner/IE; Peace Cheif

The first big question is the name of our first city.

Apolyton will be the first city, may I suggest naming the 2nd and 3rd cities after our Cheifs and the 4th city after our Shaman? Yes I just want a city named after me; Pevonia and my next Pevgrad...

Still no game play yet but we will eventually get our act together. I will keep this list handy when playing so that our citizens can name thier new homes according to thier wishes.
