Diffrent Civ growth Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

Has anyone ever noticed how wrong empire growth feels. I mean in the game your civ last 5000-6000 years. In reality 200-300 years is good. I'd like to see more empires rise and fall, there has to be some way to accomadate game play in such a game.

Of course a war can typically last 400 years.

Is it possible to mod the game to last for, say, 400 years, one particular era, and have each turn count for .5 years.

One could assume a culture in the 1500's, using europe as the model. If one played the world as the map you could have 100-150 small cultures. This would seem more realistic, more like real history.

80 years to produce one group of nights? They'd all die before they finish training.

ANy thoughts on a way to config the game like this?

Another thought: Or even better can anyone explain the logic/ why this is realistic, behind why the game works like this?

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

The biggest reason the game spans so long is so the entire technology tree and different eras can be represented in the game. It doesn't bother me that the Americans weren't in the Ancient Era, or that the Mongols could be in the Modern Era. This game isn't meant to be reality, rather it is an ABSTRACTION of reality. Basic concepts, principles, etc., that are included in the game are supposed to have only a touch of reality.
