People need to get over it and rebuild the things. Bigger and better. Some people have dubbed it the "End of the skyscraper era in the US". Which is utter BS amd would be a self inflicted shame. Manhatten and here in chicago alone has more skyscrapers and there the best in the world. We must rebuild them.

Kaulumpoor towers are great. But the only thing that makes them the "tallest" is the observation needle on the very top.

We must go HIGHER :doitnow:

Besides so much office space has to be replaced..think about it.

I tend to agree with the stance that we must rebuild the site, bigger, bolder, and more bad-ass if you will. To the terrorists who brought the towers down, they stood as an impossing symbol of American economic might. If we build some g*dd*mned wussy little Mom-And-Pop Store business block and some weepy-wierd Megolithic memorial taking up half the site, then the terrorists have SUCCESSFULLY made their point; have succeeded in their objective/mission on that awful day. They will have won that battle. USA-0...Terrorists-1

The reason why the WTC and pentagon were targeted anyway was because they were indeed symbols of american economic and military dominance over the world.

If there goal was to see us crippled in both departments. They failed miserably.

I doubt they were stupid in choosing the WTC as their economic target, at least as far as "strategery" goes. They probably knew they wouldn't cripple the US economy per ce, just trip it up a good bit. Their real intention, I think, was most likely JUST to show us they could hurt us BADLY by striking where we've never been struck before by a foreign force: Civilian Mainland USA. Just to show they could do it.

Beautiful? They where BIG sure, but big uninspired rectangular BOXES for God's sake! They were at not point aesthetically pleasing. I've blown better looking designs into a kleenex. Of course, then again, I'm not much into the whole 'organic architectural design' stuff either...

The Empire State building is beautiful.

With all that granite, a jetliner probably wouldn't knock it over, either.

Well, I don't know 'bout the second sentence...I could only hope we don't ever find out.

The first sentence, on the other hand, I agree with 100%. The chief architect at least tried, and succeeded, in making a pleaseth-the-eye design. The upright cargo container design of many skyscapers makes me want to beat their architects upside the head with a t-square!

Sell short and straddle options. It doesn't matter which way the market goes, all that matters is that you've got more at the end of the day.

If you had seen the towers, you would never call them ugly, they were as impressive as they were graceful, elegant in form and function, two more beautiful buildings would he hard to find.

I saw them being built, in their glory, and when they fell, there was nothing ugly about them but their end.

Full PM-box? Change here!

I always loved the Towers, I never found them ugly. In the afternoon, the setting sun in the Fall would make them glow pink. I think they were the best thing about the NY skyline, and everytime I look south from my office, I miss them sorely.
