March: President Smith assasinated, election of new President to follow
A sad moment in the history of the Federated States occured when the President was assasinated by Robert Hague, a member of the ultra-right wing Fascist League.
As the nation mourned the loss of the man who solved the recent crisis with the New Union of Soviet Socilist Republics, the Vice President James Sinclair took the oath of office.
As per the FSD constituoion this year's election will now also include the election of a new President. At the moment it seems like either the Isolationist Party or the Social Democrats will win. The Democratic Alliance has lost much ground since President Yeager touched off the recent crisis amongst the Federated people.
June: Alaskan withdrawl hinted
President Sinclair announced that a possible withdrawl from the Alaskan frontier was possible. However he has set one condition. The NUSSR withdrwas resp[ectively, and the Triple PAct as a whole signs a NOn-Aggression Pact with the Federated States of Democracy and the Republic of Incaland.
Election Results are in
The Isolationist Party won a stunning election win when their leader won the Presidential Race. President-elect John Sharpton, will take his oath of office comming in Feburary.
In the Federal House the Social Democrats won, which promises to make life hard for the new President. The LOwer House now will have a slight Isolationist majority.
The Isolationist ticket won on the principles that they will withdraw from world politics. It promises greater trading ties to all nations , but has won on the merirt that it will concentrate only on matters concerning the Americas, and those of the growing program to colonise space within the FSD.

To the world We ask you to recognise the new nations of South America. We follow this with a recognition of the New Kingdom of Argentina. We do not think that the NUSSR policy of occupying Chilie was for the good of the world, as this terrirtory was under Australian occupation and it was a map error not a annexation that caused the difficulties. We do not see the need of a fully unified South America and will not partiucipate in one. Incaland or the FSD wioll not annex any more territory on EArth however.
To Italy
The efforts in ending the crisis made by your nation is congrtulated by our President. The Lima Pact however is not under the duress of your recognistion, and we willingly recognise the Kingdom of Argentina and its inclusion in the Italian sphere of influence. This of course will be retracted if you do not do likewise in the case of the FSD and Incaland
To the Triple Pact I offer a NAP. Futhermore FSD warships won't leave the EAstern half of the PAcific, if you do not lkeave the Western. I suggest Midway ISland as the line that ships of either nations abide by. I wil;l stand down my army in Alaska if you do likewise in Siberia. I hope we can resume some form of co-operation in the future, and as such I resume normalised relations by re-instating my diplomats into your territory.
To the Freedom Pact (top secret) I hope our alliance will endure, as it is athe moment the most powerful in the world. If it came to war, we wouldn't lose if all member-states co-operated, I ask you to consider allowinf the Republic of Incaland to join in the near future as they are on the road to full freedom. I suggest we do not provoke the Triple Pact, but merely stop it from expoanding anymore on Earth. Let them fire the first shot, and the opnion of the NEutrals will sway towards us.

To NAF/FS:
As it looks like the Federated States are now withdrawing from Alaska, Italy will consider this crisis closed.
We will recognize FS influence over the Free Repubblic of Incaland.
Our battleships are currently turning around and going back to the Italian coast and the Mediterraneum, we expect your ships in the Med to do the same.
However, we won't allow your diplomats back in Roma until the crisis will not be solved for the other Triple Pact members as well.
To Triple Pact (secret):
We think the crisis is over.
An attack against the Federated States would be very bad for our reputation, as the former North American Federation did probably all they could do to prevent this war.
Anyway, we think that we obatined what we wanted from them, they re-formed and granted complete freedom to the Communist Party of NAF, they did not annex any territories in former Incaland.
From our side we consider this crisis over, and we think that the last point of attrition (the Alaskan-Siberian DMZone issue) would not need our help, as we are sure that NUSSR will be able to brillantly solve it by herself.
Our fleet that was sent in the Atlantic off the North American coast will now retreat, however we will not undertake any diplomatic relation or trade deal until we won't have the placet from the rest of the Triple Pact.

New Colonialist Law:
The Italian Parlament just ratified a new law.
This law states that for every adult aged between 25-55 living in a space colony there should be at least 10 childrens.
This means that for every couple there must be something close to 20 children.
The government will economically help all those people that has at least 6 children and will reward anybody who reach the 10 children conditions.
According to the ISTAT (The Italian Institute of Statistic) this should boost up the population of the Italian Colonies on both, the Sun Solar System and the Vega Solar System
The Earth and Phobos Italian territories were not included in the law, and once a planet reach a total population of 150 milions (this is believed to happen in some 15-20 years)

NEWS
The FT-1P, the prototype next generation of tanks, has been successfully tested and FT-1 series are ready for production. Due to his new fusion engine, initially used on spaceships, the FT-1 is the fastest tank in the world. His top speed of 325mph on road gives the Red Army a possibility to strike deep in the enemy lines (blitzkrieg capacity increased). His two cannons, a plasma one and an ion one, give it a destructive firepower. Equipped with an onboard computer (ILE origin) able to save up to 100 targets and to immediately engage them, the FT-1 is agile, nervous and clever.
His low height size, 1.80 meters, makes him a difficult target to hit and his armor makes shots bounce on him. Only laser or plasma can hurt it.
EXTREMELY CONFIDENTIAL FOR CHAIRMAN EYES ONLY (just to tell you about the hovercraft tank)
Test of the XH-001 has been validated. The tank is nearly invincible, only heavy shells like 300 mm rounds can destroy it. It can sail 10 km of the coast.
The Special Device is being tested and shows a great potential. We are making good progress in silencing it. A T-2500 couldn’t see it on his radar. We will soon test it with a D-1 and some FS tanks.
If the SD is fully functional, shall I start operation Invisible Darkness?

The first moon near Draconia is part of Draconia. We only allowed you to set up a testing site not to put a colony of 54 million people on it. What are you doing? We kicked your people out of there long ago, so how can you have a colony on our moon?

The tank also uses night vision and thermal imaging as well, so it can target tanks using heat that comes form it. It can strike targets up to 5 km away.

NUSSR NEWS!
A terrorist attack has destroyed the Parliament of Chile! Three hundred people have died! Chairman Gorkhvikin said he won’t accept a threat upon Chile sovereignty. NUSSR will help her friend to revenge against the terrorists who destroyed the exemple of a free socialist democracy.
Chairman Gorkhvikin said that guilty of terrorist attack has been found. They are Peruvians! They have tried to overthrow Chile government. Comrade Gorkhvikin suspects the Republic of Incaland to be behind the scene. As a preventive strike, Red Army will have to maintain martial law in Chile.
NUSSR has discovered that terrorist activities have been going on in Chile and they are coming from the north. To strike in the nest, NUSSR has decided to send her army to maintain order in Republic of Incaland. Therefore, NUSSR will have to occupy some parts of Republic of Incaland, especially territories in the south of Lima, in Peru.
We ask Incans to collaborate with us to keep order. The Red Army will pull back when rebels will be found.
We also ask the United Nations to stay out of this, this is not an invasion. We are maintaining security over Chile and therefore must protect it from any threats especially Incan ones.

Operation Invisible Darkness
In the night, across the Pacific Ocean, sailed a gigantic armada of hovercrafts. Thousand of them, armored personal carriers to H-1S approached the beach of the Republic of Incaland. Suddenly, in the sky, aircrafts burst in. First, were fighters, Mig and Sukhoi speeding through the sky toward Lima.
Then followed, bombers and fighter bombers dropping bombs over the coastline.
Finally, choppers transporting elite troops and heavy planes with onboard parachutists.
Kilometers away the three huge battlecarriers and their protection fleet opened fire on the beach. Explosions appeared everywhere transforming a peaceful beach in the gate to hell.
Like demons, Red Army amphibious assault Army stormed, hovercrafts being invincible shooting on bunkers and like lizards emerging from water, they started to roll on the hills.
Coastal defense of the Republic of Incaland had been overrun by the might of the Red Army.
At the same time in the south, Fusion tanks moved in. Between the sea and the Andes, a fantastic spearhead moved in to strike on. Cannons blasting on every target moving in sight, the fusion tanks continued their advance followed by mechanized infantry.
Incans opposed small resistance against the overwhelming force of the Red Army.

Above Lima in Space:
3 hours before attack:
10 huge barges came out from the Red Star. The Stalin protecting them, they slowly advanced toward atmosphere.
They arrived above the huge city of Lima. Lenin and Stalin opened fire upon the nearest military bases, destroying in them in seconds.
The barges landed at the airport and immediately ESSM stormed in, firing their weapons and tanks moved behind.
In 10 min, the airport was under NUSSR control and a full sized corps moved toward Lima and the presidential palace.
”-This is Colonel Kroutienko to Admiral of the Space Fleet Koutoff, Airport under control you can send in reinforcements. We expect a counter-attack in 2:00 hours. If we can have 500 tanks down here, that will be piece of cake.
-Admiral Koutoff online, Reinforcements coming in. Continue your advance and size the city. Capture the President, the Assembly and ministers they must be under our control if not we will have the FS upon us. And I don’t have to speak about retaliation?
-Affirmative Comrade Admiral! We will size the full government. Our recon elements shall be already in Lima. Out…
-Amphibious forces shall arrive before night. Holding Lima would give us an edge over FS on the negotiation table.”

The 87th regiment moved in Lima, the recon element of ESSM was the first to enter the city.
In a long column of dust and steel, the NUSSR troops advanced. A fast command jeep was leading and repeating:
“Citizens of Lima, stay in your homes. We are the Red Army and we won’t attack you if you don’t attack us. We are peaceful people and we are here in a peacekeeping mission.”
A rocket came from a building and hit the jeep. It exploded in a massive fireball. The whole street erupted in fire. Some Incan soldiers tried to open fire with a heavy machine gun from the other side of the street. Highly trained ESSM were not match for them and they were quickly silenced. Behind them, trucks, jeeps and tanks continue to move forward and the fight went out in the whole city. The spearhead of the Red Army was attacked from all side but her massive number and the training of her troops gave them the edge. In three hours, Lima fell under Soviet hands.
Last stand at Presidential Palace
Last remnants of Incan forces tried to setup a defensive position at the palace.
A H-1S came in. Rockets were shot but all bounce on the massive armor.
Behind the tank, a flame tank roared. Heavy machine guns opened fire on it. A few minutes later, a flame tongue appeared from the massive gun. The whole palace was set in fire. At this moment, ESSM forces opened fire while two squads rushed by the entrance. A FS helicopter showed up and tried to land to evacuate the President. He ran through the garden, his personal guards trying to cover him against the lethal rain of bullets coming. Coming out of his invisibility, the H-1 rotated his turret and fired an ion shell. The chopper was hit and stopped his rotor, paralyzed by the ion effects. It bounced on the ground and stopped. Russian snipers immediately showed their skills picking up one by one guards. One of them turned to shoot the president knowing he would be captured but a laser shot destroyed his gun and ESSM guys were already on him.
-You are the President of the Republic of Incaland, aren’t you? Asked Kroutienko in a bad English.
-I used to be.
-Well, you are now a prisoner of the Red Army and you will capitulate to Russian forces. We are here to maintain peace and if do not collaborate with NUSSR, you will be shot.
-To collaborate with communist pigs? Never!
-This we will see… Your army doesn’t stand a chance. Face it.
-Not mine but Freedom Pact will crush you!

The Red Army continues her offensive through Peru. A few cities are still under Republic of Incaland control.

TO FS: Well, you may feel our strike in Peru a declaration of war upon Republic of Incaland. But it is not. My troops will retreat next year as I think Chile will be safe. You were right about the rebel resistance. Sadly, we had to revenge them from those cowards. I repeat, do not think Operation Invisible Darkness is a war.
We also have signed the NAP. I hope it will last. We also accept different parties in Chile but Parliament destruction is a difficulty to overcome for any party.
TO United Nations and Freedom Pact:
I’m sorry to announce Operation Invisible Darkness took place. Terrorists have pushed us too far.
TO Triple Pact (extremely secret):
As I told you, Invisible Darkness has begun. The goal isn’t to take control over Republic of Incaland as some may think. It would be stupid of us, it is to remove a pro-FS government by a neutral one. It is also a warning to FS, as I have stated before, an active FS part in Republic of Incaland government wouldn’t be accepted by NUSSR. We didn’t declare war but it is our last warning.
About a common language, well English fit me the best. In NUSSR schools, it is taught as primary language to help comprehension between different states.
Also a economic community would be interesting like European Union was, a further step would be a shared army and open border.

A new government has been formed in Lima.
It seems it is more pro-NUSSR. Tensions and riots are starting through the country to protest against NUSSR and this illegitimate government.

We congratulate NUSSR for the efficency of their army, We never saw a better trained and more efficient army in all our history, even the Roman Legions might appear weak compared to your exellent army training.
We would like to know if there is a way to have here in Italy some NUSSR Military advisor, so that they will help modernize our military and strategies, in a way they did to the Red Army.
About the Common language thing, well, In Italy we teach in school Italian as a primary language, and English and German as a second and third language.
However in the Eastern Slav Italy instead of German we teach Russian, while in Persia we let the school autonomy on which third language to choose, but tey all know English and Italian as well.
We agree to NUSSR proposal of forming an Economic Community similar to the failed EU one.
We think that we can all only gain from this project.
To NUSSR: We heard you have some economics problem, some of our industries and firms would like to open new factories and industry in the Black Sea Area and in Scandinavia.

After the ratification by the Parlament two year ago of the Colonialist law, which expect every adult people living on a space colony, to have something like 10 children per adult, the population in the space territories had been booming.

To Triple Pact (very very secret):
Italy supports ultimatum against FS, as they violated the treaty to disarm Alaska, and they are now militarly occuping the Free Nation of Incaland.
However, if war must start, Italy is not ready yet for a full scale interstellar war, therefore, Italy will keep supplyng the Triple Pact, but if war start before we complete are just started Navy upgrade (4 years) then we will have to declare ourself neutral (but as soon as we are ready we will join the war at your side)
To the universe:
The Federated States have militarly reoccupied Alaska, the same zone that by a treaty signed between FS and Triple Pact just a few years ago, was declared a Demilitarized Zone.
Also the Federated States had just attacked the Free Repubblic of Incaland, the very same Repubblic that, at first they tried to annex, and then they granted independence. And now, they are occuping it. It looks like the FS can not be trust as they don't respect their own words.
Italy would also like to point out that since the FS appeared once again in the world scene, there were many point of attrition, and several times war was about to start because of them.
They act like warmongers, they don't keep their own words and many times they provoked the Triple Pact.
We believe that something needs to be done about that, and quickly.
To GFDR and ILE (secret):
As already stated in our message to the universe, the FS are acting like warmongers, and they can not be trust.
Therefore we ask you to ban them from your alliance, because it looks like the FS has nothing to do with vaues such as Freedom and Liberty.
This is just to be taken as a kind advice from a friend, but we know you'll be wise.
