Quinns, I support your proposal but doesn't that mean that their should be a rectification for those that received the old rating? For example I received the full 21 points and so did many others.

I think Frans and Keygen are right. On second thought... we better leave it alone. You are right, it would not be fair. We can get an idea of the WEIGHT of a rating by looking at the win-loss columns. Obviously, if a player has 0 wins and 0 losses their rating WEIGHT is very low and should not be considered very seriously until they get some games under their belt. I'm removing the above post concerning this proposal. Thanks for shedding light on this before I messed up the system!

I have to confess I don't quite like the idea of changine this sytem in this meaning. Actually, those who have followed the ratings system since its vry begginigs have noticed that this was the first thing proposed. But I didn't quite like it. However, I might change my opinion here, still.
I don't even consider this being a very serious problem that new Deities have such a high rating, it usually soon drops if they deserve it .
I would like to see more opinions on this, however, before I make my decision.
And if we make the change, all players who had an initial rating of 21, will have 1 point deducted from their ratings, for otherwise it would be unfair to those new people who will come here later.

So, I see the opinions. OK, there will be no change whatsoever.
And Quinns, luckily, you can't mess up the whole system up without my agreement, and I wouldn't.

Demos, I don't know. Maybe the games you dropped a few weeks ago where rated too. When you drop a game where you are rated or change your status from rated to unrated you lose many points.
Quinns and Solver could explain you better .

Actually, everyone defeats you 3 times. That is, imagine a 6 player game. And the fool Solver is beaten. So the little bastard Solver gets 5*3=15 losses, however, the others don't gain anything additional, it's only that the loser loses it.
