Don't know if I should post this way, but I will repeat some suggestions I made in another thread:
The best way to approach Tyre would be along the mountain route: once the archer stack E of Geofront has been taken out (either battering against our entrenched pike, or by strikes from the city), then move onto the mountain, then hop over to the mountain SE, to lay seige to Tyre from the heights. That approach maximizes defense against counterattack.
We should wage this war by throwing our elite units into battle, to try to generate leaders. Attack the archers on the mountain with the 2 elite units in Geof. Move more elite sword into Geof (from the stack E of Ubergorsk, take out any surviving archers, then grind towards Tyre.
We might consider bypassing Sidon and heading directly for Gordium (with a combined force, once Tyre is in our hands). With luck, Sidon might grow, and we could take it rather than razing it.
By the way, we should hook up the Persian acquisitions with roads quickly (maybe using that worker stack now clearing jungle outside of BHQ, once their done chopping and roading), to accelerate reinforcement and clear more jungle around Ubergorsk. We will be counting on creating culture here, to help strengthen our grip on the territory we acquire from Persia.

Ah, well, while leading my regiment around the highlands, I picked up this letter to home from a centurion of mine, and I thought I'd post it here, as a letter from the front. We are all in high spirits, and we can't wait to take out some Persians. The letter will no doubt touch you deeply.
---
A Letter to Ma and Pa, From Mount Gastronome, Persian Highlands
Hi Ma, and Pa,
This is your only son...Gnaeus Claudius Cornelius Publius Marcus Gecko. Remember me? I thought you would, considering I'm your only son. Well, here I am approaching Tyre, walking o'er the mountains, and slipping on the snow. The lot of us in my veteran regiment of swordsmen are right pleased to have such a great leader as Aggie taking us into battle, and we can't wait to sink our respective gladii into some Persian tummies. The time has come to strike, as Aggie says. We want to go on to the Pyramids, and kill some Persians there. Once we've taken those, we might make peace with the Persians, or we might just kill more of them. Luckily, because most of my men have homicidal tendencies (those that would worry most people in civilized life), I think we can easily break the Persians when we ourselves go up against them. I am really enjoying my experience, and collecting them on papyrii in my autobiography, The Life of a Great Big Pain in the Neck, which I expect to publish in my waning years.
Love,
Your Son,
Gnaeus Claudius Cornelius Publius Marcus Gecko (Your son...),
Centurion
P.S., I seem to have forgotten to pack an extra shirt. Would it be too much to ask if you sent me another one? Or two? Or three? Or four? How about five? Perhaps six?
P.P.S., If it's not too much trouble, I'd also like a couple more pairs of pants...
P.P.P.S., And perhaps you could send me a toothbrush? Thanks...
P.P.P.P.S., And how 'bout some coffee? The stuff they dole out here tastes like mud...in fact, from observing the cook yesterday, I have a very definitely feeling that mud it may well be...

Okay, I've drawn up the Public Works plans for 70 AD and I'll be able to give you 2 workers in the first turn. I hope no one minds if I post my preliminary plans here for the moment to show Aggie.
Let me know if this is acceptable or not! The issues concerning you are under Napoleton (since that's where the workers are at the moment).
