Graphics needed? What do we need and in what format? Put an end to popups!

All I've seen is discussion on rules and background so I don't know if we're even needing any graphic stuff.

If we do, what do we need and what format and/or size does it need to be. Feel free to post graphic descriptions/sketches in your reply.

I'm not on the graphics team, so I can't give you specs, but currently we have some prototype graphics for a few parts of the game, etc. Vel and others are using Bryce for most of that kind of work.

I'm sure we have a need for more graphics, and Vel should be around here soon to answer your question better than I can.

As an official member of the art team, I will be pleased to point you guys to the forum that contains said graphics. I can't remember exactly what is needed, but I'm sure I can make whatever I am doing up into needed formats.

Oh yeah and the forum is:

Hey Ghengis! Yep....graphics are badly needed! We've only recently begun to turn more attention and resources in this area, but so far, we're still getting geared up and started. The thread JMarkes pointed you to contains some of the graphics available on the public Velocigames fora, and I've made sure you have rights to get into the "behind the scenes" areas to scope out the other stuff (the terrain drafts I've been working on, for example).

I've also started a thread in the behind the scenes areas for us to begin discussing the particulars you asked about. As yet, little has been set in stone. We're making the terrain tiles 128x128, buildings 64x64, pcx format (cos our earlier attempts didn't look good when scaled to different zoom levels), but as someone who has worked with Civ3's graphics, your input on those discussions would carry a great deal of weight.

See you there?

-=Vel=-
PS: We'll be making more of the graphics available soon....the first step for us is to hammer out a set of good looking stuff to show....once we get there, we'll begin making them available here for public critiques....

I have indeed! Sadly, I've not had further opportunities to get back into Bryce, but I'm hoping that tomorrow....for some reason, Sundays are generally really good creative days, so my fingers are crossed! (and it shows...my typing speed is waaaaay down!)
