btw.. this terrain improvement business is a new one to me. Now have you guys ever built any improvement Icons only to hear a bang or pop a few seconds or so after you placed it. That happens to me alot, it only seems to do it when there are a large number of improvements on the map.


Oh and is it possible to reload a space plane outside of a city or do you have to be in the city to load it?

I have been having troubles with the Terrain Improvements as well. It seems to be forgetting PW's that have been commenced between Turns. Very annoying and wasteful.

Germany needs all the leibensraum she can get as well and you have never seen a budget deficit like mine. I still cannot quite grasp the huge difference CD's Mod makes. In a conventional Game I would be delirious to be in my position but here I'm teetering on the verge of bankruptcy, have close to 50% of my GNP devoted to defence and a minimum 40 Cities in the Riot zone.

I feel I should be playing Somalia rather than Germany!

Yep, I also have many major metropoli doing nothing but contributing to either the butget deficit or the reconstruction of our collectively despoiled planet.

The tactics may not be unique but the neccessity and impact of them under the CD Mod sure as hell are!

Jon hits my science city with a franchise. You'll be lucky to get 100 production out of it.

But that did get me thinking An added Spy attack could be a "Blackmail Scientist" attack that works like a conversion/franchise attack. It would syphon off a percentage of the cities science. There could be a counter called "The Fixer" which would make the blackmailer go away.

I'm now also getting the 'bangs' you described after I place Tile Improvements.

I think a lot of the weird effects we are getting must just be down to the sheer scale of our resepective Empires. The Game must really be labouring under the strain of such vast numbers of huge Cities and Armies. With all these Mega-Mines churning out unchecked, by Pollution, such vast Production and the hundreds of Trade Routes we all have the figures are almost frightening!

I have noticed another little 'bug' in the Game which you may not be aware of. When you are rapidly scanning over the Map you can see other Players' Submarines fleetingly. I have GlobeSat so I can see all of your visable Units anyway but I still should not be able to detect Subs! Have either of you noticed this?

Sorry for the delay but the Game and/or my machine just kept crashing and a Turn now takes at least an hour to play.

I fear that poor old CtP was never designed with such Empire sizes in mind and is struggling to cope.

Please Swissy, opt for Peace. I do not even demand compensation for your unprovoked attack upon me and will return all your mainland Cities within two Turns. You lost another three this Turn and will be utterlly destroyed within five if you do not.

I do not want your Cities as it is hard enough maintaining order in my own and War is too much like hard work fighting at such long range. Give a guy a break!
