Proposal for a Quickstart 3 settlers for Apolyton Pack

- 3 super settlers (10 movements, vision range increase by one)
- 1 Super Horse Archer (15 movement, vision range 2), replace by a normal one at turn 3
- 1 Super Transport (15 movement, vision range 3, can carry 3 units), replace by a normal one at turn 4
- 3000 Gold
- 2000 PW

Moreover, the first city created by each player autogrow to size 3 if build before turn 3 and have a new good at the build location; the second and third city will grow to size 2. All cities will have a Phalanx.

What do you think ?

Bellow a short description:
- 3 super settlers (movement 7, vision range increase by one)
- 9 advances (the first 9 advances: 0-8)
- 3000 Gold, 2000 PW
- 1 Super Horse Archer (movement 12, vision range 2), replace by a normal one at turn 3
- 1 Super Transport (movement 10, vision range 3, can carry 3 units), replace by a normal one at turn 4
Moreover, the first 3 cities created by each player autogrow to size 3 if build before turn 3 and have a new good at the build location

Tomorrow or the day after I will work on advance choice. I will also reduce the turn# on which super units are replace by normal one.

I've volunteered to moderate this game. This leaves us with the following players:

Gavrushka
Saddam
Jafo

If we use slamp's Apolyton Quick Start (3 or 5 settlers), we can start now. If you want to wait for Keygen's quick start to be adapted to the Apolyton Pack, we will have to wait.

When started this game will be known as Crimson Sky.

Saddam had resigned from playing in this game and Jafo as far as I know haven't been asked if he wants to join this game. Have you invited him or someone else?

For those that don't know, you get at start:

• 12,000 gold

• Nine advances

A very good explanation Dugrik

In fact the amount of gold you start with depends on the difficulty level. But public works is always 5000. Maybe we should reduce this because in Apolyton Pack, the PW needed for roads is reduced by 25%

Also, in Apolyton Pack, the mounted archer has one less movement tile per turn, but an extra tile visibility range, which is an interesting difference.

To change the public work open "scenario.slc" with a text editor and change the value of the line "SetPW(g.player, 5000);" to something else like 4000.
But 5000 PW is still good IMO .

So it looks like we have openings for two players and a moderator, or for three players. (I'm still willing to moderate instead of play, though I'd prefer to play this one.)

So three people need to step up and say I wanna be in the best dang pbem game ever!

It is such a different Game with CD's Mod that I cannot believe you are struggling to find players.

APQS has been the toughest Game I have EVER played and, at the advanced stage it now has reached, a real 30-45 minute job per Turn just to sort out the City micro-management.

Slamp's Quick Start is brilliant and you are in for one hell of challenge!

Just remember to build loads of Cruise Missiles and Helicopters as they are about the most useful units you could wish for and beware the Pollution which is amplified beyond imagination.

There are so many things to recommend about this Mod that it is almost a case of what CtP should have been in the first place.

Don't ditch it as it is such a fantastic improvement on original CtP that you will collectively be missing out on a hell of a lot of fun!

Well I guess I am in this one... I see a couple of suggestions for an accelerated start mod.... How about someone suggesting which one, we all downlaod it - and start it this weekend - I do suggest someone contacts Jafo to see if he is playing, he has not posted here, and I have not heard from him for some time... Is this a rated game with Quinns system yeh?

Incidentally Quinns is now rating Internet games, and has started up a new League, for those less than happy with Gameleague!

I'd suggest that you start 2 new thread, one for each game, and we abandon this one as it's so old. How about you start 2 new threads, and divide the potential players up between the 2?
