	Why is Tyre building a Spearman? Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

Why is Tyre building a Spearman, I thought we had decided on it building a settler then rushing it to disband the city and move it over a bit.

Well the fact is we saved before finishing all the moves,actually I had said build a temple(i had forgot about the move), so I'll order the settler be built(since a conquered city is under the SMC)when we start. However i suggest we wait to rush the settler until we have gordium and antioch, or at least until the army has moved out and we know the immediate area is secure. Being bordred by a river e/ne will help defense too.The goodnews is that the proposed road to tyre is already being built.

Yep and New Tyre will be connected to the capital with a road (and barracks with a road straight to the Pyramids if Ramses builds Sun Tzu in Ubergorsk next turn, that would make taking the Pyramids almost a forgone conclusion.)

Anyway we got three pikemen and a city that close to the front with a barracks would be a really handy thing...........

IMHO we should relocate Tyre only after the war is over. In the mean time it can serve as a military base (barracks from Sun Tzu's) and a city to rush attackers in.

There is no reason to waste the time we're at war when it will be 5-6 spaces from the front. Persia's going to be far more interested in holding their capital and the Pyramids than taking a dinky size 1 city from us.

Besides its going to be well defended with healing troops getting ready to return to the front.

Who knows what Persia is thinking? Nobody said their strategy had to be reasonable.

It means small and useless(at least to the persian, for us we will have barracks curtesy of sun tsu).
