	MINISTRY OF EXPANSION - Proposed City Sites Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

This thread is where the Officially Proposed City Sites and suggestions of citizens for city sites will be posted. Once a city site has been decided on it will be added to the list of Officially Proposed City Sites.

Officially Proposed City Sites
New Tyre and New Sidon
Old Tyre is currently building the settler for New Tyre. New Sidon has been founded.



Uber Island
Current "compromise" plan, ignore the "1" it was a left over artifact.



Mystery City
Settler in route.
Why this tile? This is one of two locations that use the maximum amount of dead space, all the tiles except one in the radius of this location have river access (+1 commerce) which makes it better than the other choice.

Good job ghengis, what order do you wish to settle uber island, I thought you wanted the current settler on galley for site F, is this correct, for the record the reason he hasn't been dropped off yet is that I wanted to get the goodie hut before i unloaded him, just in case there were barbarians.

Yes, I would like F first so as to ensure we get the Iron for Uber, with the Iron and Horse resources in our control Uber can build state of the art forces to defend itself even though we can't transport them to and from the mainland.

I would prefer the 6 cities plan for Uber Isle so we can cover as much sea as possible and eventually be able to effectively use the island as an early warning station, a naval base and a base for privateers to repair after successfully intercepting enemy vessels .
Other than that I give my full support to Ghengis's plans.

Unfortunately only you and I believe one other person supported that plan over this one, so I went back to this one as it had gotten a lot of support.

Eventually this will be 7 cities with two coastal cities being placed at 1 and 2.

I think Uber isla should be given top priority, since that is pristine and valuable land- it will take centuries of clearing jungle to make the 'new Persian' cities worth much, and the same for the 'jugle usding' city of New Munich.

But I don't see much we can do for Uber in the short run since we can't transport luxuries and such until much later in the era. they most likely can't grow beyond size 3 or so and they will have low commerce and shield production until they get courthouses, the FP or something.

You can grow beyond size 3 with specialist. With a lot of Grassland, we can feed them and use them for worker/settler fodder. So as soon as we get Astronomy, we can bring them to full production. I think that this is what the AI does: grows fast and uses specialist for settler fodder, keeping the working population for working. That's why they grow so fast.

GF, I like the sites, but I have one request. Move new Sidon NW by 1, it will impact Gorduim less and only minimally Ubercrux.

Can we please have the city placements using the the current map we have of Uber Isle so we can see what resources are available rather than a black shroud.

Hmmm.... Last time I checked, the vote was 17 for the 5 city Uber Island and 18 for the 6 city Uber Island. With me being one of the 18.

If the race continues to be this close then Ghengis will have to make the decision himself.
You can't draw a decision based on the vote of a majority of one.
