	what the he? why is everything in german? Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

I dld Cd's mod 4.2 and one of (I believe even 2 of) the excel docs was in german, however the comments were in english. TP makes his Powermod in german (even though he doesnt understand german as he says), everywhere I only see Dominques mod in german even though I once dld it from Apolyton in english and had to translate it for myself! Whats going on? Please, someone! I am confused.

Oh, I am sorry if you understood me wrong. Actually I am German :-) so let me tell you my thoughts of modifying CTP and sharing of ideas/modifications in this community:

I like CTP very much. It took some time, but more and more I see the raw diamond hidden in CTP. However I think that there are a few things I would like to change personally, so I take all available information together, try to remember some basic rules about programming and do those things I want and can change. Now there are 3 drivers why I am doing it in German:

1. My game is in German. Well, I want my MODs to be smoothly integrated there. Therefore I am doing it in German. I am very thankful that there is a German version of CD's MOD but I never would have asked CD to publish a German version. At the end of the day, I would have started to translate it by myself (and shared it with the community). Important is that CD did something which I never would have been able to in this great detail, so I highly appreciate this (that does not mean that I want to position my small work as being equally to CD's MOD monument). Translation is, let's say a bit more executional. If someone does not understand English or German, that's his or her personal problem (of course this looks different when talking from Activision's point of view, but from my pov this is fine I think).

2. Coding is an on-going process. Even if I would see a benefit in coding in English, I would be forced to translate all versions, which is an enourmous effort. Don't ask me to code in English and then translate it into German - the effort would be the same.

3. I am neither an Activision support nor a support for the CTP community with access to the Internet. My key priority is to do what I feel is right to do based on my personal likes/dislikes, and I am more than open for additional ideas from outside. However it is not my job to provide a 100% user-friendly patch.

The reason why I am in this forum at all is the fact that I wanted to learn about gameplay, gamebalancing and other things - which has been a full success so far - and I am more than thankful for this (especially to the people contributing to the forums with new ideas, executional insights, Activision company support etc.)

So let me conclude now (and continue in my job in a 100% english-speaking company) with the following recommendation: Read through my MOD, understand my English comments, play my MOD in German and understand my MOD. Translation then should not be an issue anymore. On the other hand, there is a German CTP forum on http://www.activision.de (I am not sure, but I have seen you several times there, haven't I?). Maybe you will find there people who do not like to code in SLIC but would be open to translate my latest MOD.

Okay, dann kann ich ja in Deutsch posten. Ich bin ja auch Deutscher bzw. Österreicher, falls du in meinem Profil nachgeschaut hast.

Ich glaube du hast mich etwas falsch verstanden, vielleicht hab ich mich ja auch falsch ausgedrückt, jedenfalls wollte ich nur andeuten, dass ich etwas verwirrt bin. Ich war nämlich längere Zeit nicht in diesem Forum mußt du wissen. Ich habe natürlich kein Problem mit irgendwelchen mods in Deutsch oder Englisch. Ich hab mir ja auch Dominiqus building mod übersetzt und auch ein paar Leute gegeben.
Übrigens: CD's mod wurde nicht von CD übersetzt sondern von einem anderen, nur am Rande bemerkt.
Ich bin also etwas verwirrt da ich in CD'mod v. 4.2 ein deutsches Excel Blatt sehe, aber mit Englischen Komentaren. Noch mehr bin ich verwirrt, da ich dieses Mod von Apolyton heruntergeladen habe und daher müßte es eigentlich rein Englisch sein. Die meisten hier sind ja immerhin englisch-sprachig und können mit Deutsch relativ wenig anfangen.

Ich habe wirklich kein Problem damit wenn etwas in Englisch oder Deutsch ist, ich bin halt nur "confused".
