hey im new to this how do i play multiplayer?

ok ii got servers.dat and now i can find servers but no ones on?
is there speical times for a "tourment" and where do i sign up? can i start playing right away? can i play with mods on?

You can sign up for the Multiplayer Tournament is THIS thread. You have to ask if any games need a player, but im sure you can get a game very soon. It doesnt use any mods.
