Torin is very powerful early game.

I bring him to DemiGod status in 10 years from the first try (Impossible, of course). With all starting Life spells on him he taken alone 1 Sky Drake (+some phantom warriors) node. Near the end he killed 5 Chaos Dragons alone. But he recieved agility & lucky as 2 random picks - best defence available to him.

Mana from nodes+magic items, research form ruins...

Btw that game was also 1-city win on Impossible.

A 1-city win on Impossible is actually easier than trying to hold more cities.
