In a word, yes.

The candidates have had several days to post their campaign threads if they chose to do so. Three days is enough time to make up your mind - it's not THAT big a decision.

It is important to have the new administration confirmed by October 1, so they can get on with the game, and so we don't have elections running on forever, into the term of the people who should have already been confirmed.
