I apologized to El Mencey for my premature accusation. I had compared our maps and found numerous points on our maps (coordinates) matching up perfectly. There were just so many that I felt for sure he had mimicked my map. I was wrong. El Mencey showed me how he created his map and it’s definitely his creation and all credit goes to him for it.

It’s interesting to note that El Mencey basis his maps on satellite images from NASA. This initially did not make sense to me, fore how could two maps line up so many places when they both used different sources (I used a globe for reference). That’s when I realized, that in essence both our maps were based on “satellite” images; fore I could be considered a human satellite looking at a globe.

I love the tool El Mencey uses to create his maps. It cuts down the time to make maps substantially. More maps makes for a better game, I just wish I had of run by this map making utility program before spending 2-3 months on mine
