	R.L. Issues - PW needs help with orders. Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

Alright, in my infinite wisdom I put off doing my Civ stuff. I have a Geology trip that I am leaving for in about... oh 6 hours! I will return by Sunday evening (Pacific time of course).

I'm hoping someone would be willing to fill in for me while I am gone? It shouldn't be too difficult. We're mainly finishing up what didn't happen earlier this week. So my orders for 430 AD should be kind of decent (or at least give someone a good idea of what to do).

There really isn't a specific strategy I am adopting. Just keep clearing this damn jungle and mine squares that will produce the most shields. The new city between Timeline and Termina should probably be a priority to clear jungle with, as we have deemed it a cultural center of learning!

Any help would GREATLY be appreciated! Sorry to leave everyone hanging like this at the last minute!!!!!

I can do it if no-one more experienced with the DG is available (I've never written orders for anything yet).

However, I can certainly fill in at the actual turnchat (I've been going to them anyways ) and perhaps write the orders if I took the time to actually sit and down and think through it. I'm insanely anal with how I move around my workers and I got a reputation for building more settlers than anyone else in multiplayer civ2 games - so I guess I wouldnt' be terribly bad at it. That said, I haven't been paying any attention to the PW orders format or anything like that while here so far, so I'm not really comfortable unless no-one else can do it.

So I hope someone else volunteers, but I can try it if no-one else does.

Before you leave, If its possible, try to decide on the issue of if we can build a colony on the extra luxury (discussion on both sides is on the orders thread). Very quickly, Togas wants to so we can trade it to Rome; GodKing and Aggie (the two names I remember, I'm in a huge rush right now, sorry if I'm assigining the wrong arguement to the wrong people ) would rather build a temple. All the discussion is in the turnthread orders thread.

Finally, don't worry about it that much -- the President can do a few mini-polls and decide as he goes along. Arnelos'll probably be fine for the job as well...

Arnelos - If you'd like to do it, don't worry about not having experience. It isn't hard at all. I didn't have any experience when I decided to run! If you do decide to do it, I thank you greatly! In regards to "messing something up," don't worry about it. You really can't screw up public works unless you give all my workers to adaMada so he can trade them to other countries! If you are anal about your orders, well even better! I think you'll do a fine job.

adaMada - Yup, I approve of the colony. If you need workers for a trade (I doubt it) or any other colonies, I approve. Just make sure you use a foreign worker for any of these deals (if it is possible at the time). I don't support the ARE, but those foreigners can be damn lazy sometimes! So I approve of putting them to work in other fields as well.

Arnelos, if you need help ask. I've gotten pretty good and figuring out what WB is up to. I'll bet he caught something from that last turn chat.


Course you could let the workers go "free range" for the next turnchat. When they get done doing something, do something else.

You don't need to post precise orders just give a general overview of what you like the workers to do.

Actually theres a pack of free-range workers heading for Ghengistown and it needs some jungle cleared away so it can grow a little bit and get connected to our resources.

I'm assuming that the flurry of posts on this thread (and what's been stated in them) indicates that no orders will be composed for the upcoming turnchat and that we will instead rely upon the good judgement of the President working with WB's previous orders and any advice he might seek from others present. No?

Sounds good to me. I'll try to be there just in case you need me to look up something (I'll keep WB's original orders in another window - my machine is high-end enough that I don't have a problem running several other app's along with civ3 and mIRC ), sorta like that very first turnchat of mine where I had GhengisFarb's orders in another window .

As with most turnchats, I figure I can just lurk and pipe in if people actually need help w/something.
