	Who Wants Gotms Back Tired of ads?

I was talking to markg in the chatroom about a gotm and he said if somebody would orgainze it we could have one again. So if you like to orgainze it or just play the gotms just post a reply to this thread to show your suppot.

There are similar types of games available in the Strategy forum, in case there are people here who haven't noticed.
They are non-competitive (no winners, no losers, no Hall of Fame, nothing), so that may not appeal to some peope, but they are very well organised and lots of us play the same game and compare notes. It's a lot of fun.

The series is called 'Apolyton University' (AU).
We're currently playing our 7th game.

Go to the Strat forum and check out any threads that start with AU for more information. Anyone and everyone is welcome.

As for bringing back the GotM feature? They are A LOT of work to organise. Because they're competitive there is a lot of stuff that has to be done to keep track of everyone's performance, develop standards for submissions, ensure nobody cheats etc etc etc...

If some brave soul volunteers to organise then I'll play.

well i tryed them before but i want medals and want recongition for winning but it looks like with the minumal support there want be a gotm here ever again.

I rarely had time to play before, but the Games of the Month were always lots of fun (for observers and players) -- it'd be great if Markos'd bring them back. If they survived into the summer, I might even have time to do one .

My games tend to take too long to play and I don't want to restrict playing to just GOTM or AU games while still learning.

BUT-- it would be great to have a Mini GOTM, something like Cracker likes to play: yr 4000bc to 1000 ad.

I don't support your idea as you have been whining about it in the chatroom and used it to persuade outsiders to vote for your suggestion, flash9286. Quit the PR attempts in the chatroom and in general offer a public appology that you created 3-4 DL's and got banned for that and bad language. In that case I consider this as a valid request from you.

Nobody asked for you opinion either. And AFAIK you don't know what I play, so you can't claim that I don't play Civ III.
