	Bombardment Strength? Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

Something I am wondering...what exactly does the bombardment strength of a unit do? For example, the higher the bombardment strength the more damage it does or the more likely it is to do damage to the target? It seems to me the higher this number is the more often it causes damage with a successful bombardment attack? Can anyone help me clarify this? Just something I would like to know.

The bombardment strenght indicates the likeliness to do damage.
The maximum number of hit points lost is given by the fire rate (i.e. the number of attacks per bombardment).
