Apolyton, We Have A Problem Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

I lost my second hard drive (D in june and it had Civ3 on it, but that "add/remove aplication"-feature in control panel says that my system still has civ3.
now I have gotten new 2. hard drive and on the other day I tried to install Civ3 on it but I was not succesful.
I tried to install, reinstall, uninstall but no. cannot locate civ3.exe. and I'm also unaple to play the game, 'cos my system don't have the needed game files.

now, what should I do, to be aple to play Civ3?

thanks.

Tired of ads?

I haven't had that problem even if it is left.

Usually an uninstall will leave some files on the computer in the folder where it was installed anyway.

When I reinstall, never had a problem.

If it is a problem, look in the Registry for entries related to Civ III, and delete them.

If don't know what you are doing in the Registry, maybe you can find someone who knows.

It's not too hard.
Start RegEdit or whatever it is and use find and start at the top of the Registry, and put in something like "Civilization III" to do a search.
If anything comes up when starting at the very top of the registry, delete it, then continue on in Find with Find Next command button.
After searching through the entire Registry, which it will show, and it may take a while, reinstall the game after quiting RegEdit in Windows.

Start -> Run -> RegEdit should bring up the Registry.

The other, well, it never deletes the entry in Add/Remove Programs if it is entered. I think Windows98SE did that, but Windows 2000 Professional may do that, maybe. I would have to check.

Anyway, I just don't see where you are having a problem, unless one of the patches is also listed, and you need to check to see if that is a problem also.

I think as far as I know, it should just re-install over with the start up screen when putting the CD in the drive, or use Start -> Run -> Setup.exe or whatever the set up program is.

If that don't work, try installing it from the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel program. Actually according to Microsoft, all programs should be installed from Add/Remove Programs screen, but usually one has to browse for the 'setup.exe' file on the CD, which is the program to run.
