The President Reports - 1000 AD Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

It was rather an administrative session of exploring, building Caravans and bringing them toward CAPITOL, directing Settlers to build roads and irrigation, and getting Diplomats toward pickup points… But there is good news at the end!

860 - Explored, Caravans heading toward trade sites, Diplomats heading toward pickup points, completing Temples and more Caravans.

880 - Explored, Caravans heading toward trade sites, Diplomats heading toward pickup points, completing Temples and more Caravans.

900 - Explored, Caravans heading toward trade sites, Diplomats heading toward pickup points, completing Temples and more Caravans. Discovered Barb city of Utica.

920 - Carth govt overthrown. Explored, Caravans heading toward trade sites, Diplomats heading toward pickup points, completing Temples and more Caravans.

940 - Carth becomes Republic. CAPITOL goes into disorder. (I don't understand that, as I had foreseen it and set the Workers to zero population growth. Instead, it showed up this turn with +1 food. There was no terrain improvement underway, either). Anyway, made one Worker a Scientist there to solve the disorder.

960 - Explored, Caravans heading toward trade sites, Diplomats heading toward pickup points, completing Temples and more Caravans. CAPITOL returns to happiness.

980 - Discovered Japanese city of Rusicade. Explored, Caravans heading toward trade sites, Diplomats heading toward pickup points, completing Temples and more Caravans.

1000 - Discovered Japanese city of Nagoya. Discovered PHILOSOPHY, get MONOTHEISM, researching Construction to move toward Gunpowder. Established Embassy with Chinese. Silk Caravan to Canton gains us 228 gold and gets us 1/3 of the way to Construction. The Chinese are high in technology and offer excellent trade. More Caravans are on the way to their cities.

CAPITOL is building Mike's now, and there a 3 Caravans waiting at the gates and several more close. We should be able to complete Mike's in just a few turns. None of the 3 civs we know of have Monotheism, and the Powergraph shows the undiscovered Civs at about their same level. After that, it will be into Republic and on to Leo's!

Question.

In 900 AD you discovered the Barb city of Utica, can we not bribe this city? Barb cities are usually cheap to bribe afterall. THis might give us a drop off point or congration point on the carth continent/land mass. THoughts welcome...

That's all the screenshots for now. I'll leave it to the various Ministers to post more detailed ones of particular interest to their functions.

We are trying to avoid adding more cities so that it will be easier to change to Republic. Plus, as long as the Barbs have cities on the same landmass as the Carths and Japanese, it will keep all 3 of them at each others throats. We can take the Barb cities later if we want.

Ministers - I have just emailed the 1000 AD game file to you. If you don't receive it soon, please let me know. It's always possible for me to get an address wrong of a glitch to occur in the mailing.

I'm anticipating Tues-Thurs polls and reports of Friday, with the next game session Friday night or Saturdat morning (depending on receiving enough reports). I really want to receive Minister Reports, so that I know I am following the will of the Citizens through their chosen Ministers. If you missed some in the past, don't worry about; that's water over the dam now and we'll go bravely forth into the future from here!

Thank you, John. And we are exploring for the other Civs so we can give you more Civs to worry about. If I recall correctly, there are Mongols, Vikings, and Celts yet to be found.

Put an end to popups!

Good job !
After Mike's and Rep, I think we may expand again, and explore, explore... North and west...
Another priority : To have a better science level : 15 turns is a handicap !
Celts seems to be developped, and are building many WoW ! In some civ games there is often a civ building many wows, but it is not the strongest !
Chinese are too rich to my opinion !

Shade,

In the last turn or two, I was checking the cities with non-Worker citizens, to see if they could be returned to the fields and forests without causing unhappiness. I left them as Taxmen, not Scientists, in error. I have corrected that. Thanks for catching that oversight. We are now at 11 turns per tech.

Better than being "distracted" by some Viking with an axe, I suppose...
