I'm new to Apolyton and I have been reading a lot of threads.

I would like to ask the people who keep restarting the game to find the best start location , where is the challenge??

You are naturally going to win every game if you start out with the best locations.

I play on Monarch level and take whatever is given me. Most of my games go to 2050 for a retire victory. Yes I also have lost my share of games. I have won 2 games by 1922 and 1946 by Domination using the Romans. I play the Americans or India when
I want to play builder.

I like the challenge of coming from behind to victory. It is more
gratifying to win IMO. To each his/her own I guess.

I never give up on a game I start win or lose. The harder the Challenge the better player you will become.

Challenge your brain not the mechanics of the game, because when CIV3:PTW arrives it will be a whole new ballgame.

These are my thoughts. Thanks for listening.

I can't asnwer the question as I am far too lazy to reload for a better start and in fact rarely even move the starting settler. I would have to see at first glance a compelling reason to move and I can't remember the last time that happened. Note I am not saying moving does not help, only that I do not do it.

I you move up a level, i do think it's to 'search' for a good spot.Anyway people can do whatever they want

I reload b/c I don't want to waste my time on a really bad start. But I really only start when I get put down on jungle or desert or something.

I will probably start playing really crappy starts as well, so that I can play MP better.

There are no levels left for me to move up to, I play all levels.

The only times I restart are when I start on a tiny iceball, in the middle of a desert, or in a massive jungle (all three of which I've set in my mod to being unable to build cities on ).

I only restart if I have a really crappy position like Trip said, or if theres a big swath of Jungle on my continent. I hate Jungle, its evil, it should die.

Same here, I moded the game so theres no building on jungle.
