Text Only Threads Suffering from ads?

Is it another option implemented only when there is a lot of strain on the server?

Can we get an option that will allow us to always use this mode?

yes, but you got it out of error. the setting is that it is only shown to guests

Get a bigger avatar today!

If that option was available to members it might be useful for people with slow dial-up connections, although they'd have to turn signatures off, of course.

I hope this is only a temporial measure, the text only versions are more difficuilt to read and if I am uni I don't want to log in, because I don't have the time to read all the threads I want to read. But once I was logged in, after a certain time all the threads are marked as read even if I still wanted to read some of them.

As has been stated, this and similar measures that have been implemented in recent days to better manage the recent above-average server load.
