not much to decide again...

At this moment we need 2 more techs and Leo's to get us from zero to hero(invention and gunpowder)...don't think this will be a problem.

I've taken a look at our military status: all units are acounted for, the only units outside a city are triremes, 1 horsemen and 1 warrior.
The only point of "trouble" I could see would be the city of Santanders: it has 2 shieds production(3 with next pop) and has now 2 units in support(1 warrior and one settler---> 1 new warrior comming up(future musketman) )

Our army consists out of 19 phalanxes and 15 warriors( and just a few stronger units)--> id est we will not be fighting any wars. The reason why we will probably constantly at war with the 3 known nations is because they are all allied to oneanother...(**** happens )

What orders do we have to take?

1) do we send a trireme to obladi? stationed there it can patrol, transport caravans to the carths for quick profits and diplo's for cheap units.

2) The horsemen : should they explore south or go north to the unexplored territory or go home to a city...no risks when we go Rep

3) the trireme(white arrow) just pick one option
-->1) immediatly go north
-->2) go north after little island
-->3) go further before going north
(this is if the paths are 'possible')

4) should we use the diplo's for further devious acts or will we become saviours of culture and humanity ?

5) guess that's all other questions/suggestions/...

= bad, evil, will to devious things that might cause wars and unhappines like poison watersuplies, sabotage and steal techs.

= good, honest, will establish embassies and don't attack enemy cities/units...they will only explore or go back to hometown.

I thought that wasn't that hard to understand...good and evil seem universal things

I thought the meaning was pretty clear when Shade said...

= "Diplomats (whether used for good or evil) and caravans."

Good diplomat -- bolsters homeland defense through bribery of barbs, increases intelligence by establishing embassies.

Evil diplomat -- steals technology, incites revolts, etc.

The point, I believe, is that dips are good to build because they can be used in many ways, don't cost much, and require no support.

Is anyone aboard that trireme? If not, it's kind of a waste -- but would take forever to get back to civilzation.

I suggest that the boat just continue to map the coastline of the land it abuts now, hoping it continues to lead north.

the one north carries a warrior(white arrows)
the one south is empty(with the dashed arrow) but "relativly" close to freeport

Got spare money?

Do we realy need those NON units? If we get leo's our problems with defence will be over anyway.

I'd rather put those resources in caravans and improvements.

~100G/unit is cheap...we don't need them now but when those Japs start to get to much on our nerves we won't need to build units ourselves

We can build musketeers for 10 shields, a lot cheaper then 100 gold...

If the need arises to get more units I suggest we bribe a couple of horsies and tiremmes instead of archers.

Bribing NONE units allows us to defend our border cities without the unhappiness and shield maintenance that are inevitably part of a Republic.

Normally, one is forced to skimp on needed defense in order to maintain growth. Each NONE saves us a shield per turn while allowing us to spend our resources on more important things -- like camels and infrastructure!

I see your point on the resources and improvements, right now we can not build any thing new becouse our $$ flow is 0. That will change Tho in republic so its not a big concern.
What could be a concern is the fact that we have many cities defended with just warriors and if for some reason the japs came over to attack we could find ourselves loosing some cities. now i don't think this will happen but those who prepare for the worst LIVE LONGER! The Barb units will be cheaper than trying to rush a unit and we can amass a fair Homeland defense of NON units by bribing them.

I also conceed the point of Leo's upgrading those warriors but the same will be true of the bribed units so spending 100G to buy a warrior to have leo upgrade it or 100G on a NON and let leo upgrade it is kinda a no Brainer.

???
But the warrior cost shouldn't be less?

... wondering....

The plan is globaly good.
But I have two noticed things :
- OK for bribing NON units, very usefull in democracy : but we have a present use for them : embarking them on a trirem and explore the dark face of the world without another unit making unhappiness in a city !
- Bombarding camels must concern rich civs in priority : Chinese, then Japs, and only if no other demand Carths !

Suffering from ads?

JCP - certainly the rich civs take precedence with trade routes, and where possible I have ordered that Caravans go to China, then Japan, and Carthage only if desperate.

Good to see you keeping me honest.
