Any ideas on editing advances to make them slower to achieve for me and the ai opponent. It seems that they come to quickly and kinda messes up what is an otherwise enjoyable game. Also can you edit it to get rid of an advance so it wont be available when you play?

Look in DiffDB text, and you will see settings for how much extra the human player has to have for advances, and other settings for giving the AI advantages or handicaps in production, gold and science. This would be the most effective way to change things for all advances.
As far as taking an advance out, I would not recommend trying that until you are pretty familiar with the game, because *everything* is linked to the advances, one way or another.
Btw, if it's the Med mod where these problems are occurring, we will be working on balancing this in the next round of play-testing.

One slight change that would tend to slow down advances for all players is to cut back on the number of trade goods. Edit the map in the setup screen before you start the game.

Thanks for the info, I have played the game for over a year now but stopped for a while. The main reason I stopped was just from the idiotic future advances and the whole space city/sea city nonsense.
