You have a misconcept here.
The north and south pole of the doest connect in the real word earth. Just the west and east.
Try to picture that the north hemisfere is the above part of a ball. There fore if you are in canada and heads to north you should end up in something like russia. Not in south america. But you dont do that in real life beacuse of the climate of the pole.
Thats why the X-Wrap on, Y-Wrap off is called the Earth Map.

well and on the real world you don't bang against a black whatsoever, of course polar expeditions wouldn't have been much fun in typical clothing of ancient egypt, but my icbms don't care for that
