When I go to build a city, and then decide NOT to build a city, it will skip that name. As an example the order for my cities are A,B,C,D, etc. I decide to build city A and then decide not build it. The next time I build a city I will ask to build city B, thus skipping city A.
This did not happen to me in regular CIV3

Two quibbles:
1. This is something I noticed while playing a scenario: basically, my tech research seems to "jump around". I've explicitly noted it jumping from having 6 turns left to 30 in one turn (!!), all without anything occuring which would cause it to do that. Now, this is not the first time I've noticed it, but before I couldn't be sure if I wasn't imagining things and kept a better eye out for it. Now, after reloading, a few turns later due to frustration at that jump it had reduced itself to "Engineering (1 Turn Remaining)". Like I said, this is a mod, but there I haven't done anything to the Rules which would cause this (all I have done so far is rename a few civs and introduce a few new units).
However, since it's a mod, I doubt any official help would be given, so keep if everyone could keep an eye out for something along this line.
2. As I mentioned, I've introduced a few new units, and went and created new folders and renamed the appropriate .INI files. However, my game has just crashed with an "Error Reading File Missing Entry in "text\PediaIcons.txt": ANIMNAME_". Does something now have to be done to the PediaIcons file in order to have these units work properly?

Yes, you have to add in an #ANIMNAME_ entry in the pediaicons, and it looks like you also need to fill out the Civilopedia Entry box for the unit in the BIX (in the editor).
The #ANIMNAME_ entries are used to tell the game what the name of the unit folder is.
Check out Boris Godunov's excellent Tutorial on adding units
I'll keep a lookout for the jumpy research too.

isak I've been having a similar problem. Except I haven't been trying to MOD the game.
I get "Error Reading File"
"GameRes\Text\PediaIcons.txt: ANIMNAME_PRTO_ARMY"
This happens when I enter the Modern Era. I get the screen that says something like "our scientists say that this is a new era" and then as soon as I click on "Lets Play the Game" it gives me this error.
I have looked at the file "PediaIcons.txt" and I don't see any problems with it.
I've tried reinstalling the game but that doesn't seem to help.
I have attached the file so that maybe someone could tell me what is wrong.
The only thing that I can come up with is that maybe my CD is a scratched in that area and the Install program didn't correctly copy over the file.
Thanks in advance for the help

Here's another one for the books:
Apparently, the Editor isn't fan of importing.
I've tried on several different occasions to import a map into the Double Your Pleasure mod- I'm getting a kick out of the mod, but I hate random maps due to the Unrelenting Suck of it all. However, even importing a map with just one tile of grassland in an empty, wind-swept sea causes my editor to crash- the same error, every time. I've made sure "Custom Map" is checked off, and it still decides to fall down and not roll over like a dead puppy no matter how many tears I let fall onto it.
I'm kinda interested as to where the problem lies; in the DYP mod itself (it being too complex to sustain a huge change), in my computer, or in the editor. Anyways, if someone manages to import a half-decent map into DYP and is willing to upload it, I'd be much obliged. Marla's [huge] World Map or a Europe map or even Kal-Els 180x180 Earth would be welcome.
Hell, if someone is willing to help me, I'd even upload the Europe map I'd like to play on ;-)

@civmackiel:
Post a savegame here and we can find out if it's a 'local problem' (i.e. your machine) or a general problem with the game.
@Cian:
Do those maps have cities, starting positions etc. ?? If they do, make sure you only select the World Map option when you chose which parts of the BIX to import - the other settings might be conflicting with something in DyP.

@isak
Thanks for offering to help. Here is the problem savegame. After I ask the worker to build a railroad and a few other moves for the Babylonians, it freezes when they (the red ones) move their ships near my shores.
If it doesn't freeze on your system, please save it in 1910 AD and post it back so I could resume it. I'm just feelin' sorry for the hours spent playin'.
Thanks again.
