I also back the requests by Pedrunn et al. Removal of inactive members would be particularly helpful.

While a good idea... what would be the post threshold, and are you talking inactive members period, or just inactive to the certain threads?

IMHO it'd be easier to simply delete the finished demo game civgroups and then put them back in with zero membership counts... who knows, some of these people may be back after a while, and I know after I was on a 'poly vacation I wouldn't want to have to rejoin all my civgroups again.

We're only talking about the Demogame groups. E.g. in the CTP2DG we have 56 members but only around 20 to 25 post there. Deleting the civgroup after the game is finished doesn't solve our problem, since we're far from finishing.
So what we are proposing is to throw someone out of the DG-group if he hasn't posted in the corresponding forum for e.g. 2 months.
That wouldn't mean that you'd have to rejoin all civgroups after a long, long vacation, just the DG-ones.

I would think that the criterion should be that the member has made no posts at all in the related DG forum within some time period, which should probably be at least 3 months, though 2 would be acceptable. I think most people do not holiday for so long without accessing 'Poly, and even if someone did rejoining the civgroups requires onlyone click each once you have reached the appropriate page.

Is there a way to automate it though, that's the thing. I suppose there would be a way, but would it be worth the time to code it?

Couldn't a delete every once and a while do the same thing? Kind of an interest survey, I suppose?

hi ,

, well there are some members who dont post , just read , vote , etc , ....

the best would be to send them a PM if they have not posted in 2-3 months , then if they dont respond to the PM after two weeks they should be "deleted" , ....

have a nice day

that would be fine, but most of them don't vote neither, even in the most crucial votes there are about 15 participants of 55 citizens in the ctp2dg.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Point well-taken Panag.

However, we still have some people on the Civ2DG who have not posted since the very first game.

I think we can safely delete these folks, without dissuading current participants of the DG.

In ACDG we had three different citizen registers to update the currently active members. Perhaps the moderator of the demo game forum in question could remove people's membership of a demo game community if they don't post in that citizen register thread.

I agree with panag on that one... they may be a lurking membership... or since they joined one registry don't think to join a later one.

I agree. Though it would be nice if this suggestion could be implemented as well to save time:

quote:
Hi Markos,

speaking of DG Members lists, what about something like PM all members feature like we have it for our buddies. This way we could inform all the members more effective about turn threads nominations for elections, elections, amendments, and court cases.
