The quiet before the storm? Enter the AD-FREE zone

I don't see alot of hype or hoopla about this game around the net. I thought moo was a legendary series with throngs of followers. The interest level doesn't seem to be too big..it's flying below the radar it seems. I mean how big will this game be if it turns out to be great? Maybe this is because of the delays?

I remember we had a big star league on kali back in 1998 and there was tons of interest. I was a Sakkra Leader named Cyborg/and later Nomad. After awhile it finally died down..but was going strong there for a couple of years (97-98) Did anyone here play in that league? I fellow named Elron created and maintained it and it was pretty neat..we had wars and empires that we joined..It was pretty fun.

I wonder if the same interest level will be genrated by moo3. I hope so, those were some fun days.

Suffering from ads?

It could be that there is so much other competition nowadays as compared to back when Moo2 came out. In the form of MMORPG's, RTS, FPS, and PTW. There are alot more things to do online..

I don't think Moo has any brand name outside a tight circle of sci-fi strategist players. Which is all right, in fact, because that means it'll have to be good to sell well.

Civ3, which certianly has a strong brand among the general gaming public, sold well in spite of being a seriously flawed game. The same is simply not possible for Moo3.

Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

MOO has enough of a brand to be favourably talked about periodically in UK PC Gamer so I would expect it to be the same in the US version. Like them or not these mainstream magazines do a lot to raise awareness and influence a lot of potential gamers. It looks like they'll give it good coverage when they get a copy to review. The danger is that they will seek to compare it inappropriately with other recent releases of completely different types, like Imperium Galactica III perhaps.
