Does it really work if you are in close proximity? I've only ever managed to play the game once. And it lost sync after 12 minutes.

I haven't tried the real time MP yet, and I am now nervous about the reported ME problems.

Another thing to consider is who's backbone you are on (no peering lag if you are on the same backbone). Chances are in the US you are on either WorldCom's UUNet or Sprint's SprintNet. Being on the same ISP is even better, epsecially when in the same metro. My suggestion is to list your ISP as well.

Notyoueither, I started a post of people that have successfully played PTW with those within the list. Is that understandable ? Anyway, when someone plays any one on the list we're supposed to pass on the password to those that were successfull. This way everyone can hook up as quickly as possible without repeated failures. I'm not trying to supercede your effort in your post. Nothing compares to success .

Any efforts to help get people playing are good.

My hope was that this list would help people fiind opponents 'near' to them so as to increase the chance of success. People who have been successful is another good criteria.

A big plus when playing against me is probably that I never will give up and play (and try to win ... even if it seems obvious I cant ) till the bitter end.
