OK. This is not gonna be easy. But it is necessary.

The bottom line is that as of now you will have better luck with people who are close to you for Internet MP. You do not have to be in the same city, but that can't hurt.

So, where are you? What type of connection do you have? What OS (this could be important)? And when are you available?

BTW, if you register here, you should really at least activate PMs here on Poly, and let users email you. Those are options in the Control Panel under Options

I do think they're quite close geographically though; the couple of opponents I played were in NY and Boston, and the lag wasn't so bad.

Excellent. We are starting to get some good potential matches here. Believe me, it is very much fun when you duel with someone close at near SP speed.

I have a small, but growing cell of players I can play with at near 0 lag (2 player). Hopefully if more people come out of the wood work more of you will get the same results.

Performance can vary greatly between people in the same time zone. I am listing by county/town/city so that people can judge for themselves who are likely to be close to them INet wise. You can also talk to your ISP and find out where their pipes go, that can be a clue.

For instance, I can play lagless with a fellow one timezone away from me (about 500 miles west, at a guess), but experience a bit of lag with someone in the same time zone as me, but who is about 800 miles south.

Although, listing timezones can't hurt. GMT +/- # if you wish.
