I added new units to the gl.str file. There is nothing I can figure out I did worng, as I filled in all the correct text for units.txt, uniticon, sptiteID, gl, and even help.str and junk. str, but when I load the game I get a wierd message. Missing text for id "unitname". This problem only occurs with units I gave 2 word names to in English. I even tried making them all one word, and it found problems with the original gamedata, I f someone out there knows how to help me, I would greatly appreciate it. And if I can make it work, I will try to post the mod here (for more info on my new patch, go to ctp_general)

This may seem irrelevant but what were the names?
Can you give us the lines you added?

Did you put the new gl files(assuming you made them) for the units in the gl file folder.
There is a gl file folder in the default and english directory structure. So make sure that the new gl txts are in the default/gamedata/gl directory structure.
One suggestion is to use easymod for adding units and you will avoid these problems. You can download it here on Apolyton.
Any other info would be appreciated to help solve this problem.
Thanks

Okay, I thought of what may be causing the problem. I think you mentioned in the general forum that you are using the scenario feature for your modification. Did you edit the gl_str file in the original directory structure or did you create your own directory structure in the scenario folder and put all the modified files in the scenario directory structure. It's pretty important to make sure that if you edit the unit.txt file that the gl.str file is in your own scenario directory structure. If for eg. you modified the gl_str file in the original directory structure and you did not make the corresponding additions to the original units.txt file then it will give you those errors that you are talking about.
About easymod, I think you may have the older version, which may have lead you to the problems you are having now. Make sure you are using easymod version 3.3.

Hi Chris, Did you put the graphics in the default file folder or the default/graphics/pictures, default/graphics/sprites file folder structure?
