I suggest you keep PBEMs to four or five players. Over at CFC, we are doing the *first* PBEM, Pioneer, and with 4 players it is working great. Its very easy to get 4 people to play all night, but eight is alot harder...

Very true, but if you wanted to play all night together you needn't start a PBEM game. The normal modes can cater for that.

I agree with you about limiting the number of players. Some people will always want to play huge games that last for a year or more, but the game may well flow better with only 4 or 5 players.

I can and will make 1 move or more each day. The problem is that I have access to the game during the mornings and evenings, but not during working hours. It would be nice if we could set off a number of hours this weekend to get the first few turns under our belt.

By the way, I live on the west coast.
