I sent a second copy of the file to Random. I hope everything is okay...

Random Passerby

Urk. My computer is dead. I have, for the time being, reliable 'net access, but no way to play the game. Go ahead and skip this turn, as I've delayed the game too long already; I'll see if I can't mooch off a friend until I can get my comp fixed.

I haven't heard from Random in another day.... So I'm going to make the executive decision to skip his turn. If anyone believes I should not, let them speak up in the next several hours and I will refrain.

I think the 48 hour rule is a splendid idea. Generally speaking, there is something seriously wrong if you haven't informed us in 48 hours as to your ability to take your turn. I would even go so far as to say a 36 hour rule. Simply by letting us know that you will be unavailable until such and such a time, will prevent your turn from being skipped. Any thoughts on this?
(The main reason I say this is I am only in one PBEM game - and I want to be in only 1 because I want to give it all my attention. Having these hold ups is frustrating because I really look forward to taking at least one turn per day. If someone is busy, I can totally be patient but checking 30 times to recieve no information becomes very disheartening.)

36 hour rule is fine.
If Random Passerby is going to miss more than 1-2 turns due to his PC, maybe we should ask him if he wants a sub until it is fixed?

A person has contacted me who is interested in Subbing for Random. I am contacting Random to see if that is alright with him.
Can I hear the opinion of at least one more person concerning the 36 hour rule?
