2850 BC to Carths.
Accepted Greek peace treaty offer. However, Greece should know that the Mongols have not forgotten about the unprovoked extermination of our scouting party from neutral lands in 2900 BC. The minister of defense continues to be concerned about possible agressive action towards our civilization in the future.

Please try and remember to post to our thread here, it is the only means we have for tracking the file.

Just because I am curious...
How is everyone enjoying their games?
Is the PBEM experience what you hoped?
Is the pace too slow?
In some cases, I know you have encountered one another, and in others you have actually had conflicts already? Any thoughts?
Personally I am thoroughly enjoying the game. The pace has been satisfactory and I am enjoying the emerging diplomatic experience. I really look forward to really getting into it with you guys, both militarily and diplomatically. I like spending this much time with one civ, in one game, because it has allowed me to really care about the status of my tribe. I am nervous what serious war will feel like... spending this much time with my people will make me weary of risking them, I think.
While I cannot say what it will be like with certainty, I anticipate it will be the Civ experience I have been hoping for the last ten years. (Deeply complex diplomacy with challanging oppenents engaging in multi-level strategies.)

Personally, I'm enjoying the game very much.
This is my first real PBEM experience and it is exactly what I was looking for. Although PBEM is a much slower game, I think it is also much more complex. I find that I don't typically like RTS games because they seem to rely more on quick mouse clicks and micromanagement rather than a lot of deep strategy. I was somewhat dissapointed with multiplayer civ 3 for the same reason. It seems that the only way to finish a game without people quitting is to play a small map where the focus is mostly military and early victory. PBEM feels very different and much more interesting. This is what I'm looking for in a Civ 3 MP game.
I think playing a long game against human opponents also takes the civ 3 diplomacy model to a whole new level. There are many more things to consider when playing against human opponents than when playing an AI. I'm really looking forward to the middle and late game as I'm sure there are going to be interesting game mechanics in play.
Lastly, in this PBEM I've noticed the fun of carefully planning every move in the early game. When playing against AI, I consciously slow down and analyze carefully during the early game, but not near to the extent that PBEM allows. I find myself spending part of the day thinking about the minute details of my next moves. Very interesting to see how plans evolve and change based upon meeting civs, etc. I'd also echo Aranias's comments about spending a lot of time with my tribe, I'm starting to like the little buggers.
Overall, I think this is a great game so far and I'm looking forward to see how everything plays out.

If the save is still not working, Gyromancer should play it over again and adjust preferences to something else before saving, AND save with different save name, not just overwrite the old one.
This has helped a few times when i had similar bug.
/edit: if even this wont work, then aryonis could give his password to the next player who could try loading the game with it ? That player could then block the minimap and just press end turn and then save the game to himself and play his own turn normally & pass the game on ?

Alright. Gyro, if you see his conqueror's suggestion and you want to give it a try, I'm game. If this still doesn't work, we can try his second solution (though I'm not sure I understand it exactly)
