Here's a mostly complete log of the chat. I had to disconnect a couple of times, but I think the only thing I missed was the capture of Besancon.

Can we do 7 turns next time in order to end the turnchat when the FP is completed? Doing so will allow the ministers to give more precise orders for the turnchat after the next turnchat instead of having to rely on estimates.

Attached is the latest version of the save, with all of the peace renegs done.

Notes:

Did not renegotiate peace with England as we already get 17gpt from them and we may go to war with them in the next 20 turns.

Received every civ's WM and sold them to civs that had additional cash.

Profits from renegotiated peace: Rome 13g; Aztecs 21g; Iriquois 11gpt (was 2gpt) AND 1gpt and 28g for WM; Germany 7gpt, 12g, AND 35g for WM; Russia 1g; Babylon 2g; Persia 27g; China 3g; Japan 3g; Zulu 9g.

Please use this save for other changes that need to be made between chats.

Ah, can I just have at least 20 turns of peace for a bit...

Actually, If we're not going to be able to build WC's anymore (Because of GA or MT, depends on who you ask), I'll have to just build Cavalry. Because of that, I'll need a bit more time to rebuild our Offensive Force Mil Units. We might need to have the Force Structure to take on more than one Civ, If we go after one of the Big 4.

I would like peace for a while to build our internal defenses etc. But war before nationalism probably would be preferable. This chat I will begin moving the units to "defensive locations". ET, if you would like to, I'm sure its ok if you downloaded the save and move the WF as necessary.

In my experiance, the AI almost always renegotiates peace treaties in which they are paying GPT for nothing (besides peace). Unless we're ready to go to war with England next turn, I'd suggest we renegotiate peace now, on our terms. (IIRC, you cannot make a counter-proposal on a peace treaty unless you're at war; if you're at peace, you must either accept their terms our declare war.)

There is no need to renegotiate peace. Peace will not expire. Our current deal is peace, they give 17gpt and we give dyes. They seem to like this deal and have not complained or asked us to end it. We like this deal, so I did not attempt to renegotiate it for what might turn out to be a lesser deal. Furthermore, this deal has no time period attached (all renegotiated deals are promises for 20 turns), so we can end it at any time without a rep hit.

We only renegotiate to try to force them to give us a better deal and/or extort a cash payment from them.

Sometimes it's best not to renegotiate, especially when you know that they will not agree to the previous terms. A good example of this is our current incense deal to Rome. It's a "dead deal" that's well past it's 20 turn promise to sell them incense. If we renegotiate it, they would refuse as they already have incense linked up and are possibly selling it or shopping it to someone else. If we attempted to renegotiate, we would get a lousey deal or no deal at all.

Tired of ads?

Whoops. I didn't realize we were trading them dyes in return. Sorry; I thought they were giving the gpt to us for nothing.
