Anyone playing Multi-Civ Put an end to popups!

I was wondering if anyone is playing 2 or more Civs at a time by using a hotseat game? I have started one where I am the Iroquis and the English. I am on different continents so haven't been able to use it to any advantage yet but am researching different techs so when I can have diplomacy between them, I can catch up to the AI real fast. also may trade all of my cities to one and double my size. Kind of like using the weaker civ as a willing colony.

By the way I have only a 56k connection so a online game seems to be out of the question at this time.

I tried it, but just to test some things - I don't like it too much, because of the limited number of AI civs in multiplayer...
