META-TEAM GOALS

1. Keep Gathering Storm and Glory of War Isolated From Each Other

I can't possibly over-emphasize how important this goal is to the geopolitical makeup of the game. An alliance or even a casual partnership between Gathering Storm and the Glory of War would be a disaster and could end up swallowing an entire team (any of the other three of us) pretty quickly without help from the others. If that unforunate event takes place, we would have to use every means at our disposal to drive a wedge between these two victors and hope they follow the old rule that "now alliance survives victory"

Ideally, however, we will be able to drive a wedge between them early on. I don't care if its subterfuge (lying to them - "hey, those guys are out to get you") or anything else it takes. This is priority #1. An alliance between Glory of War and Lux Invicta would be bad, but ultimately Lux Invicta knows that they can't trust Glory of War and will try to dump them - this is easier to drive a wedge in between. The true danger is an alliance between Gathering Storm and Glory of War.

I think the key item of weakness in their potential relationship that can be exploited and MUST be exploited early is the following:

Gathering Storm currently has the luxury of Glory of War being "the big bad guys" that everyone is really worried about. Gathering Storm probably is chuckling to themselves that THEY are the real threat and they could ride along on a sentiment to take out Glory of War and then stab someone in the back.

This is precisely what we can exploit, but it will have to be done early. We must convince the Gathering Storm team that we think we can work with THEM, but that we agree with everyone else that the Glory of War team is likely irreconcilable. While they're cackling to themselves about how this keeps them from being the isolated team (and there IS a risk in that!), it will also hopefully keep them from going to Glory of War to create an alliance.

We can always sign a Secret Defensive Alliance with Team Lux Invicta that says that if Gathering Storm attacks either of us, the other will attack Gathering Storm (and the other way around if Lux Invicta turns out to be more warlike than I suspect). In this manner, we can keep Gathering Storm and Glory of War apart and exploit the animosity between Gathering Storm and Lux Invicta to keep ourselves from being mortally stabbed in the back.

Speaking of this....

Glory of War seems to be the team most annoyed at Gathering Storm's effort to hire highly qualified single-player gamers to be on their team.

May I humbly suggest that we think of ways to keep the Glory of War annoyance at the Gathering Storm team alive

The Glory of War team, which styles itself as the true "WAR" team, is feeling a little unsure of itself a the moment... this is something we definately want to exploit...........

How can we keep them annoying eachother then?
What's our means?

I think spreading false rumors in publicity could do the trick...
Using these cuties as camoflague. , ,

Suffering from ads?

Oh, if we sound like very diplomatic and nice guys to them,
perhaps our false information would be approved by them?
We gotta sound trustworthy!

I can see why they might, given that good players on the Gathering Storm team might make it a more sucessful "warrior" team than the Glory of War... but I would think the Glory of War team has enough of their innate warlikeness to rely on that they shouldn't be so bothered by it...

Just think, if you end up clobbering Gathering Storm into the ground what a boost it will be to your warmongering egos... (on second thought, please don't do that... you guys are egotistical enough already )

Ok, that's my lame attempt to help this out a bit. I hope my actual intention isn't TOO obvious

That should cover it for now. We should just let them stew.

We should only lie at a later stage in the game and especially not before the game hasn't even started yet. If we do, and they find out, our reputation will fall dramatically and we will not be able to deal with situations on a diplomatic basis. So we have to build a reputation of trustworthy allies in the beginning, and after a while start deceiving them as best as we can .

I very much agree

we should avoid lieing whenever possible. Subsitute lieing by only releasing needed to know info, and helpfully-biased views of situations.

Example (no matter how fargone and offtopic)

"Builders, we think GOW is planning something against you"

against

"Builders, we have info that GOW will be attacking the following cities......."

I would go with the first.. lol, unless we want to help them defend those cities. But the info in my quotes is irrelevant, the point is, tell the other teams less, and get more out of it for us.

And whatever lies we make, do not let them discover it!
I think vague rumors could do more damage to them than plain lies. Plain lies could do more damage to ourselves.

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

Has anyone thought of making some sort of pact with another team kind of like they did in Survivor? Sort of a deal that neither team will attack the other until the other teams are defeated.

Maybe a pact with the Lux Whatitsname and Legoland. Or even one of the warlike teams?

Put an end to popups!

Oh, you're in Thrumble! Nice, welcome.

Well, I think such a pact would be kind of a deadlock.
But if all the other teams make such pacts first, and we don't...
- then we are in trouble.

We've already made an agreement with Legoland, but we ought to try to make an agreement with one of the more warlike nations as well. Anyone feel like we have an edge or very close connection with any of the other teams that we can cultivate?

Oh yes indeed... the GS. They dug our RP-style, and are friendly because of our polite behavour towards them.
If I get appointed as an ambassador over there, I can make that connection stronger and we could perhaps make a pact?

I don't know if we should trust them, though. (just pretend we are) Might be a bunch of backstabbers those guys?

Their official agenda is kickin' Trip's sore butt.
Their real agenda we do not know. (winning the game perhaps)

Si señor?

That pact relationship... in a proper mixture with Arnelos'
suggestion in the beginning of this thread, could be:
"The reversed deathpact of the Gathering Storm"

We will just have to give it som thought and some time...
