	Start building a wonder for Hoover/ToE Get a bigger avatar today!

I think we all agree that building the Hoover Dam or Theory of Evolution will give us tremendous benefits. The problem is - we're just not doing anything to make this happen.
I suggest that we switch two cities that are currently building an improvement and have already accumulated many shields to Newton's University or Shakespeare's Theater. We will later switch these cities to Hoover and ToE in order to use the shields that we've accumulated while building the temporary wonder on Hoover/ToE.
It's definitely worth a shot. Who is with me on this?

I expect that Newton's U and Shakespere's T will both be completed by other Civs before we can switch to Universal Suffrage, much less Theory of Evolution or OE or Hoover Dam.

One, this is pretty much a dead issue.

Ghengistown was supposed to be a "Wonder Factory" and should have been allowed to grow to size 12 while doing nothing but building or storing shields for building Wonders.

The deviation from this strategy has been a very sore point with me.

Not that I'm biased or anything.

And the only other thing that we can currently use to store sheilds is Wall Street. I'm more for building it outright for the extra 50 LPT (at over 1000L in Treasury). But that's another discussion

I have to say; as well as we have done in many areas of the game - despite difficult starting locations - we have far from excelled in the area of wonder building...or even there accumalation really...

If we use the Cav Army we will have the Military Academy and Heroic Epic to store shields (Ok, I know HE is only 200 shields, but what is MA?).

Don't forget we have the Palace to store shields until the Army wins a combat.

I don't understand what Army victory has to do with the palace as a wonder proxy. But then I have led a sheltered gaming experience

We may soon be building the Palace and until the Army wins a combat we can't use the Heroic Epic as a shield bank.

Oh, so the reason is since we have a large contingent who actually want to move the palace....

The Palace is a pre-build proxy. I thank Sid&co for making the palace price rediculously high. This improves it's proxy power.

Come on guys, lets start working on a wonder in our most productive city. We have ways to preserve at least most of the shields in case we lose them, and it's definitely worth the shot.

The best way to build Theory of Evolution and Hoover Dam is too make sure we get a city with both Hospital and Factory by the time we have those techs.
