The PBEM game for the Gathering Storm just got underway, and so we know for sure that these members have a copy of the game:

But the only shop selling pc games in my neighborhood is that ##éé@@FNAC@@
And I can't even check when they will have it

I know what you mean, however, the FNAC had CivIII one day before it's official release here, while my normal Games shop was running over a week late. And it costed less, IIRC

You know, the more I think about it the better that idea sounds FP and Zeit....it will be much to our advantage if the maximum number of players on our team are experienced with PBEM, as I know that for some of the other teams, only 2 or 3 actually own the game and have experience with it.

If we have 2 or 3 PBEM games going on within our own team, just think the amount of training we're getting, and learning the human strategies.... kind of like a boot camp for PTW....

One added advantage is that the four of us are actually close together, so we might even get some decent progress on this game. I'm in for it, certainly for the experience as well. But first... sigh... I have to find it yet.

I don't think I've ever used my real countries flag. I mostly just use the flags from my own heritage, not my citizenship....

As to nursing drinks in dark corners... nah, that's not me. I only go to bars when in the company of friends, I'm not someone who will hit the bottle alone.

I have PtW also, and might be interested in an intramural PBEM game if someone wants to start one (although I'll probably be doing some traveling next week, since it includes the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday).

Maybe we start a PBEM with all the East-coasters? The European group is already making their own game, and lot of us not involved in a team PBEM are relatively close geographically.

I don't want to get my hopes up, but I'm going shopping in Oxford tomorrow anyway - to get Xmas pressies for family and g/f - so I'll poke my head into EB and see what's there.

My brother works for EB (actually it's called GAME here now), but he started a 4 day break today so I can't ask him if it's in yet.
Hopefully it'll be out soon (tomorrow seems like wishful thinking, though), but I've already DL'ed the 1.14f patch. Fingers crossed.

I'll be searching it tomorrow as well, however I don't think I'll be able to play much the coming week. If I find some free time, I have to invest it into CB...

I played my first PTW game all the way out to a SS launch this holiday weekend. I don't often get to play with Modern Armor, so I enjoyed that (8 4x MA armies pack quite a punch).

One new feature I'm not so fond of: at the end, after the replay (which now shows Golden Ages and Great Leaders generated - very cool) it tells you how much time you spent on the game. I really didn't want to know that I played for 18 hours, 31 minutes and 23 seconds, thank you very much.

I played as the Celts, and had a blast. Those Gallic Swordsmen are pretty badass units. The new buildings (stock exchanges/commercial docks) are ok, but I was already rich at that point. The Internet is an awesome wonder if you have a large continent (and I did).

The barbarian tactics aren't all that bad once you adjust to them, though I play on "roaming" usually. I guess on "raging" they would be a true pain in the ass.

Anyway, I just popped on to see if the Demo game was starting, and it looks to be a tad disorganized, so I'll check in again later.
