Hi all... I'm pretty new to Civ III, but I visited here a long time ago when I was a SMAC-head, under the name Helium Pond (I'd still be using the name but I forgot my password)...
I'm playing on a Mac, and I love the game even though it's really slow--and my computer meets the recommended (above the required) specs...
Anyway, all that aside, I have two interface questions I wonder if anyone could help me out with:
1) What are those numbers in parentheses next to my government type in the info box? Like, the top line will say something like "542 Roman Despotism (2.6.1)" What do those numbers mean?
2) What do the numbers on the Cultural Advisor screen mean? Improvements and Wonders are pretty obvious, but what is Culture Rating, and what is Population Influence? My guess is that Culture Rating depends on how many times the city's had its borders increase, and that Population Influence has, duh, something to do with population--but why are there two numbers under Population Influence and what do they mean?
I couldn't find this stuff in the manual, though I might have missed it--I'm not the best manual-searcher.
