This is the run-off poll to decide which government position our democracy game will have.
Those are the proposal, so vote wise!
And make our democracy game a better game!
Proposal 2
President
- Empire settings, sliders, government type, sci-rate, pw-rate (little work)
- Running the game (lot of work?)
- Diplomacy
Minister of Defense
- Military Units (lot of work)
- Special units, except settlers (not so much work)
Minister of Domestic Affairs
- City build orders (lot of work)
- City Management, specialists (avg work)
- Science (little work)
- City placement/naming, settlers
Minister of Infrastructure
- Terraforming/Infrastructure (lot of work)
- Trade (little work)

President

President/Grand Apolyton:
- runs the game
- can make suggestion about changing the government (unless revolution (impeachment) occurred)
- diplomacy
- can poll about sliders (food/work/gold/PW/science)
- can decide about war-/piece-time (military-slider)
- veto right for special actions for special units.
- decides where to place PW-actions.
Minister of Domestic Affairs:
- City management (specialists/queue)
- can request PW to be used for terraforming/improvments (towards president, who will have to poll)
- expansion of cities (where.....)
- takes care of settlers.
Minister of Money:
- advances to be researched
- can request change of slider for science input/gold (towards president, who will have to poll).
- trade-routes
- request towards MDA (minister of Dom......) caravans to be build.
Supreme Commander:
- all military units, unless otherwise noted.

ok, I'll go with proposal 3, but I want the control of the unconventional units to go to the Ministry of Trade/Science/Diplomacy. I'll start a poll about that if proposal 3 is accepted in this poll.

it doesn't work that way. either you accept the proposal as is, or you reject it. people are voting to having the minister of the military keep control of the special units. These proposals have been selected for the runoff because people voted for them before. What you are suggesting is adding a new proposal, but we've gotten pas that point. This poll is basically a runoff of the top vote getters from the last poll.
Sorry, but your proposal didn't make the cut i guess

Actually, mapfi made his proposal before Pedrunn started this thread (and also weeks before that, but we had simply forgotten about that), but Pedrunn ignored the comment when making this thread (although I'm sure that wasn't deliberate). A seperate poll on this wouldn't hurt, just like we'll have to have a seperate poll on where the empire sliders should go. We could even combine the two (like I did with pollution and bloodlust for the mapsettings)...
Quite frankly, if we must go with proposal 3, I agree with mapfi. I still strongly prefer proposal 2, as I think it will be hard enough to find 4 ministers all the time, let alone 5. But if we go with 5 ministers, give the 5th minister some work to do. Adding unconventional warfare to the diplomacy/trade/science minister is a very logical thing to do, the concepts are all related (especially diplomacy and UW).

That's about how I'd have summed it up Locutus, thanks.
Additionally, as long as we're in the setup process there's no constitution to those polls. Those registered here agree with everybody having the right to start a poll (nobody ever contested that). So that's the way it'll be until we start.
