	Should we allow the Demogyptica Team in ? Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

As you know it, a new team wants to participate in the PtW Democracy Game. The Demogyptica Team is led by Borc, has at least 16 members, and is willing to play the game.
In normal cases, the team should be accepted, since it has more than 5 people in it. However, they do not come from Apolyton, but from a German forum (civ3.de IIRC), and some may disagree them entering the Apolyton PtW Democracy Game.

Question is : Should we allow the Demogyptica Team in ?

Yes with the following conditions:

The game is played based at Apolyton.
They become members of Apolyton and become a subgroup like the Finns.

At that point there is no need to object because they are members like the rest of us and have the right to a team.

Fine by me... on the condition that they become a real 'poly team as well, complete with icons and stuff like that. It's already confusing that the RPGers don't have an icon yet (I know, I'm easily confused )

They can have their own forum here, but there is no way to make them use it.

It might be a good idea for them to post a join thread here though. Have 5 of their number post. Put the name, icon, and leader in Mark's thread. Just to make it official.

It would also be good if their leader and diplomats maintain Poly accounts for trading PMs and allowing other teams to email them.

Just some thoughts..

Currently there are 5 teams. This new one will make six. The other team that Jon Miller will make seven teams.

We will have to either go to Deity or emperor to make the AI competitive or we will have to go to a large world with 10 civs(thus 3 AIs).

Or just play as-is and let the civs next to the single AI get fat with the spoils off the singular AI punching bag.

There has been a debate on this issue. The general consensus seems to remove the AI altogether now that there are more teams.

If their players meet the condition to join Apolyton (as suggested by many), and their leader is watching for messages here, there should be no problem. One Apolyton team is as good as the other. As far as they told me, they don't even need a private forum, because they already have one.

I am considering “No,” or “Nein” not because I don’t want them to join in, but because we don’t know if the PTW game is going to work between Apolytonians. Don’t we want to iron out the bugs first? But then again, they may not want to wait until next year. What are the arguments?

We should treat this as seriously as any other demo game that we're involved in. Personally, I don't like all of this talk about "this is just a training game, in a few months we'll drop it for the multi-team game once we're ready and CFC can join". This game is for fun, it's not just a training excersize.
