This is what the public works slave's office has decided should be done in the year of 3500 BC. It may look like a lot of time, but it is well known that planning ahead is the best way to not fall in just random actions.
The plan is official, and will be posted also at the official edicts thread. We at the office think it is the best posible plan, but there can always be something we haven't think about. That's why the plan is exposed here for public consultation.
We have decided that the slaves should go back to Madrid inmediatly after building the road, and then to the wheat lands, which will irrigate.
OOC: Detailed explanation of the plan
3850 BC - Build road (1 turn left)
3800 BC - Go back to Madrid and begin the journey to the wheat tile (the just built road should allow us to move two tiles this turn)
3750 BC - Arrive at the wheat.
3700 BC - Start irrigating (4 turns left)
3650 BC - Irrigate (3 turns left)
3600 BC - Irrigate (2 turns left)
3550 BC - Irrigate (1 turns left)
3500 BC - Irrigation finished. Coincides with cultural and popular expansion. So the irrigated wheat tile will be available to Madrid just in time
Governor Ninot hasn't confirmed us that, but we work under the assumption that he will use the wheat tile as soon as he can even if it isn't irrigated. Under this assumption building a mine wouldn't add anything to Madrid production. Building a road would add 1 extra commerce, but a quicker grow will bring us much more commerce in less time. Building roads just to speed our explorers (warriors) doesn't seem like a valid option.
We are working in projections on what to do after irrigating the wheat. Will keep you informed.
