Does anyone know how to get SMAC screen shots onto a gif or jpg file so I can post them? I tried 'print screen' and then into paint, but it comes out in different colours, and look strange.

I don't think they necessarily come out in strange colours; AFAIK, it depends on what the screen looks like at the time (of course, I speak as one who has no idea how to actually post screenshots).

1) push "print screen". this copies the screen to the clipboard
2) paste into paintshop/photoshop/what-have-you
3) save
4) attach
5) rinse and repeat

as for weird colours....operator error? seriously though, i have no clue.

Yeh, that's what I did. I think I might have different colour settings in SMAC than on my desktop. Does anyone know how to change graphics settings in SMAC? looked at preferences and changed and nothing about colours.

TKG, or anyone who knows how to work with Photo Editor, Paint, Coreldraw etc, do you have any idea how I could change my avatar so that it no longer has that white rectangle around the Tao circle, but that it becomes transparent, just like with the directorates sings in your AC directory?

You could go into paint, cut out the centre circle and save that? Not a high tech solution, but could work (and with my new found lack of credits, a drink on-the-house is always welcome )
