Well, since we seem to mostly be of the opinion that AAs should be used for breakthroughs, why not give it to Research to decide?

Artifacts are a product of exploration. They can be used for science, but can also be used in other ways. Neither Research nor Base Production (son to become Internal Affairs) should have the final say on them, so I suggest the D of E&I.

My guess is that now, considering our production rate, the best use for an alien artifact is for research breakthrough.

So I guess that it should be the decision of the research department to when and how to use an alien banana .... euh artifact

Write-in: DoEI. IMHO since we might use it for knowledge or SP we can't give it to either DoIA or DoR. And it is found by exploration, and is more of an exploration than military unit, I would rather give it to the DoEI than the DoPO

Voted xenobanana. I guess such a poll need to be really official and need at least an amendment.
My idea is that AA are way to important and starange to be left to a single person, so this need more discussion : I guess most of them will be used for research purpose, but it should anyway not be dealt by the DoR alone.

Surely this poll isn't about giving one person the right to do with it what they will, but is granting that Director the power to post the poll that asks the people what should happen to it?

If that is the case (and it damn well should be!), then it is less important who gets this extra little job. No need to say "this poll is invalid" or such-like - just vote damn you. No need for another poll, we aren't giving any despotic powers, just one small responsibility to put before the people of the UN.

Yes, a poll as to what it's used for, but do we need a poll for all the less important bits such as how to get it back to a base, what path to take, and what base to connect it to (obviously not apparent for a SP build) IMO while it's still out 'in the field' it's an expolration unit, and so should be under the DEI. And since we don't know what tech (if we decide to trade it for one) it will give us, the DoR has no direct interest in it.
