Psilon first to get used to the Techs...
then I'll save that Game Midgame start a new one with a Custom race and after two months or so I will reload the First Game to laugh & whine :=)

Torn between Psilons and Evon... then considered that the tech will probably be similar to previous Moos so I don't have to worry too much about wasting years to get something I will never use. Add to that that the Evon are supposed to be the greatest spies (and you know how I feel about that part of the game ) and my psyche was re-unified :wink: ... Evon most definitely!

I haven't played Moo before and will therefore go for something that I will hopefully pick up quickly. I assume this will be humans.

Unless of course there is some hugely Militaristic Race like the Spartans from SMAC.

Humans for me; I like to be the good guys. Of course I'm being pretty optimistic that we actually will be the good guys, but thats how I am.

YC4B4U Moo1 and Moo2 had Bulrathi race that was a bear and very strong ground combat, two races Alkari and Mrrshans that were avaiators. I have not looked to see if any made Moo3 or not.

Well Trifna, in 4X terms I think good guys would be the ones who don't annihilate other races or declare war just for conquest. Humans, with their diplomatic and charismatic bonuses, and tendency to be honorable instead of xenophobic, are closest to that in MoO.

Of course, conquest is what you do in a 4X game, so its a pretty relative term.

In RL terms, "good guys" is way too simplistic or unrealistic, and I'm not a naive person. However, I am extremely pro West. This is because I think Western values are the most likely overall to lead to happiness for people and good lives.

Totally my opinion and totally OT, I'm just responding.

I will say I think Klackon is a good game choice. I know in my games I spend most of my time building stuff, and trying to maximize production.

any thing but the harvesters, i keep seeing people talking about the big bad harvesters, and i want to run into them out in space, not learn their inner workings right away.

so probablly the humans, it will be fun to watch humanity get stomped by everybody else

I allways touhgt that Bulrathi were dogs (compare bulldogs) as Mrrshans were cats. I think that none of those three races made it to MOO3. but maybe in first expansion.....

In Moo they looked like bears to me, so I have always refered to them that way. Yes the Mrrs are cat like and the ALk are bird and both have a ships bonus.

i agree with some aspects of the west, but i say down with the conservative fools, the silly rightists and unfair capitALism of backstabing then cooperation.

i would explain what i said so it won't be taken the wrong way, but that would essay length....would have to be to make some people understand

Weltraum Amy the Darlocks are a minor race now. They cann't be played.

For everyone else, you will be in for a suprise in what race you want to play now since most of the races mention are pretty weak and will probably be edited a bit in the creation prossess since they are totally different from Moo and Moo2.

MINOR RACE?!?

I led the Darlock Empire to victory a THOUSAND times! My ships were INVINCIBLE! I've fought battles, conquered empires and colonized the known space! And the reward is becoming a MINOR race?! We WILL see about that...

PS: Custom race doesn't sound so bad either.

I'd like to invite all the Westerners who dislike the West to go and live in some nonWestern countries. Think of it as an education trip.

You can conveniently blame all this naughty behavior on Western meddling, but of course that's really just wholesale generalization that can be read at any 10 cent Leftist website. The fact remains: many 3rd world countries were humanitarian nightmares long before any Western influence, and will be long after.

While I think the Humanoid ships look the coolest, I *don't* expect to be playing a humanoid race first; for reasons I can't go into, of course.

The various humanoid races are not the easiest of races to play this time around, though I'm sure there are mixed opinions as to how easy they were in the previous incarnations, so I won't really go there.

Who instead? Hmmm...
