	Nethack: Ever had a luckier start than this? Enter the AD-FREE zone

How's this? I have explored one room only, killed no monsters and already have a +2 gray dragon scale mail. My rogue dipped a potion in a fountain and unleashed a grateful water demon that granted a wish.

I haven't been able to get a Rogue past level 8 no matter how often I try though.

Ha! Level 1 Samurai, explored couple of rooms, and finds a wand. Engrave for identification - wand of wishing. Scroll of charging and lots of other stuff - GDSM, Helm of Brilliance, Excalibur (IIRC), blessed +2 BoH and... something.

My character just died at the bottom of the mines, anyway. Perservered with dwarvish mattock with which I have no skill so I didn't hit reliably , then underestimated one Fire Elemental and was dead in 3 hits :skull&crossbones:

Hehe. Finding a wand of wishing on the top level - it's an once-in-a-lifetime occurrence.

And it's happened to me twice already.

	Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

I have given up on Rogue and am trying to go with Tourist. Have had two more v lucky starts, but wasted them stupidly. All of a sudden Nethack seems very very hard.

I found a wand of death on the first level a few days ago. I found out it was a WoD when I tested it too close to a wall and killed myself with it.

:hehe: a good example of luck wasted.

I've been experimenting with letting my pet kill all the monsters so he becomes much stronger than me and I can avoid fighting much at all, but I'm still convinced that this approach is not good enough as pets still avoid the toughest monsters and can die to special attacks and occasionally block your path. So, the approach seems to be working, but death arrives suddenly before too long.
