I don't think they will. In my experience the AI doesn't seem to keen for it's Civs to recapture cities taken by barbs. As it focuses plenty of time and attention on me if I capture the same city, there is obviously a global conspiracy hidden in the depths of the game by the AI not to attack itself, but to attack me. Now I know how Saddam feels.
Anyone got any paranoia pills?

Maybe I always tend to capture barb cities myself a little too quickly to see it (cheaply bribed and draws the other Civ's attention to have a city of mine on their home continent when waging wars). I'm just too keen to wreak mayhem - long live fundamentalism!
