please, firaxis, i dont know if its a bug or feature but i want to play modded games to my liking and not be penalized by being unable to record my high scores in hall of fame. if you want to force us to play default rules, then why even give us an editor? please, this is important to me for i dont want to waste time playing and not have my scores logged because i would then forget how well i did in my games! why are u punishing people who like to modify things with an editor so they can play the game the way they want to?

I don't have PtW yet so maybe I'm talking nonsense, but:
When you edit your civ3.bix directly instead of using a scenario, it shouldn't notice that it's a modification.
Or aren't you allowed to change the civ3.bix anymore?

doesnt matter...editing civ3.bix will still disable logging of scores

You can edit the HighScores.cv3 file in WordPad (or any text editor). If you know the numerical codes, you can add the modded games manually.
Each line contains the following information: Name, Civilization number, Score, Difficulty, Victory type, and Won/Lost.
The Civilization number follows the order in the Editor (at least it did for the original civs), as follows:
1 Rome
2 Egypt
3 Greece
4 Babylon
5 Germany
6 Russia
7 China
8 America
9 Japan
10 France
11 India
12 Persia
13 Aztec
14 KwaZulu*
15 Iroquois
16 England
17 Mongols
18 España*
19 Scandia*
20 Ottomans
21 Celt
22 Arabia
23 Carthage
24 Korea
*My personal mod uses these names. I use "Scandia," because "Scandinavia" is too long to fit into one of the reports and gets truncated.
Difficulty level 1 corresponds to Deity, 2 to Emperor, etc.
Victory types
0 Domination
1 Military
2 Cultural
3 Diplomatic
4 Space Race
5 Retired
6 Rank
I don't know if there are new codes for new PTW victory types.
For a while I was maintaining a parallel .rtf file so I could add other factors (date, map specs, number of players, culture points, and with the advent of PTW, elapsed time), but I've just decided that an .xls works better.
Anyway, add my voice to those requesting a more elaborate HoF, but if nothing else, Firaxis, please list modded games with an asterisk.
Edited to incorporate victory codes supplied by Mkinser.

well i think asking for more detailed HoF is currently too much to ask for, but all i want is for my scores to be logged no matter what rules i play. i mean its not like i make money by playing civ and the only one who sees the score is probably only me. i play no tourneys so its not like im gonna cheat the world showing off my high scores! this is very frustrating!

I heartily agree. I want the HoF notating my games as well. If there were one feature I'd like this is it.

taking away HoF for people who use the editor/mods was quite possibly one of the major bonehead moves by firaxis, imo (right up there with shipping PtW w/ shoddy multiplayer). WTF were they thinking? and SHAME on you beta testers that didnt see this as a problem and let firaxis "intentionally" put it in!

i think u misunderstood me, i said "...beta testers that didnt see this as a problem..." meaning you guys didnt think this would be a problem. sorry if i came off offensive but i really dont understand the reasons behind the selective HoF.
